Why was this post deleted?

IIRC, it was asking why the James Webb Space Telescope wouldn't be able to produce aesthetically pleasing Hubble-type images. What rule did that break?

1. The post was by a spammer who had included a link to a commercial product at the bottom of their post.

This is a pretty common spammer tactic -- instead of using spambots, they pay real people to join in the discussions on message boards but then use their posts to create links to products or services, to increase their search engine ranking. We ban people when we catch them doing this.

EarlG could save some keystrokes by posting a list of things they do not ban people for.

On another note, is it Elad that is the slow one of the bunch?  I hope it is his weekend to man the helm at DUmp central.

DU gets better spammers than we do. :(

Our spammers do the same thing but it's usually accompanied by some gibberish response to an existing post that makes absolutely no sense, with lots of Engrish thrown in the mix.

I don't think it is so much a case of the spammers being better, as much as it is a case of the quality of posts at the DUmp makes jibberish blend right in.

No capitalism of any kind or profits in any form will be allowed on DU....except those going to the administrators.

No, no, sir, not at all.

Elad's pretty bright.  And slippery.  Makes an eel look like a barnacle, he's so elusive.

Lord Marblehead EarlG's the dense one.

He's the British among the two Americans.

He used to write "The Top Ten Conservative Idiots."

He's no good at humor.

Lord Marblehead is one of those foreigners where the bottoms of their shoes are still wet from stepping ashore here, and becomes an "instant expert" on America and Americans.

But Lord Marblehead's greatest claim to fame is from April 29, 2005.  My fellow alum Skins and the elusive enigmatic Elad were out to lunch together, leaving Lord Marblehead alone in the office.

That's when Doug's stupid ex-wife asked for permission to start "just one" fund-raising thread.....

Lord Marblehead said yeah, sure, go ahead.....

Ever since that time, Skins and Elad have never left Lord Marblehead alone in the office.

I wonder if Lord Marblehead is MI6?

I wonder if Lord Marblehead is MI6?

A few years ago, that claim was actually made--I wish I could find it--and illustrated with photographs of a youthful Lord Marblehead and some other schoolboy getting instructions from either the British military or British intelligence.

Like when they link to their crappy blog, and promise it has better content than the DUmp?

Well, I did a quick nadin of the issue and I cannot find any evidence that EarlG is MI6 therefore, by Truther Logic, he must be.

Hmmm... Looks like Skins and Elad may have slip out to partake in some happy hour frolicking.

Might be a good time to slip into a mole suit and see if a fund raiser can be started for Lyric's international search for the father of her love child.

Yep, lower common denominator and all that.
