Jimmy Carter wants Mitt Romney to be the Republican nominee (http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/jimmy-carter-wants-mitt-romney-republican-nominee-141827488.html)
Former President Jimmy Carter wants to see Mitt Romney win the Republican nomination and run against President Obama next November.
"I hope he wins," Carter said of the former Massachusetts governor in a Thursday night interview with MSNBC. "I'm not taking a position, but I would be very pleased to see him win the Republican nomination."
Carter, a Democrat, added that he thinks Romney would lose in a match up against Obama, and that he supports the president's re-election.
Now thats a ringing endorsement. May as well been recommended by Stretch Pelousi.

If Jimmuh was three times smarter than he ever demonstrated as President, a person would think he was trying to game the GOP. However, Mitt really would be the candidate Jimmuh would find 'Least awful' of the GOP hopefuls.

If he was four times smarter, he still wouldn't be able to crawl up out of that outhouse pit.

Well now. That's the kiss of death. Thanks Mr Cartur.

Jus Good ole Jimmuh speaking his mind, what little of it there is, bless his heart. :fuelfire:

How true, how true.

What does Jimmuh care? He managed to get someone who'd replace him as the worst, stupidest Stuttering Cluster**** Of A Miserable Failure President this country's ever known with 1-1/2 years to spare. He could spend the rest of his life "lusting in his heart" after syphilitic crack whores - or endorsing RINOs for the GOP nomination (same difference) and still die a happy man.

Health care puts Mitt in political ICU (http://www.bostonherald.com/news/columnists/view/2011_0919health_care_puts_mitt_in_political_icu/)
One word describes former Gov. Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign — stagnant. Whether possessing the front-runner status or not, his polling numbers have hovered at 18 percent since entering this race.
Though numerous impressive candidates opted not to run, Romney’s numbers never gained strength. On the other hand, Texas Gov. Rick Perry quickly has popped to the top, proving that GOP voters want to commit to a candidate. >>>
Passage of the Massachusetts health-care mandate is not a forgivable mulligan. By willingly signing this bill into law, Mitt went against a core Republican principle of personal responsibility. And this GOP betrayal served as the inspiration for Obamacare. >>>
This GOP double-cross for a photo op with Ted Kennedy is not going to be swept under the rug and forgotten. >>>
During the 2008 race, Romney campaigned on the virtues of his plan. Even now he remains steadfast in support of the mandate, which has many Republicans scratching their heads, wondering why he hasn’t flip-flopped on this issue.
It is like a captain going down with the ship, with only 18 percent of the passengers willing to remain on board.
Romney is also anti-gun, pro-gay, pro-abortion, flat earth-no growth-society (global warming), ethanol subsidies and "works with democrats" (big government). That the Mittwit has such a strong chance of winning the nomination unfortunately speaks volumes about the current state of the GOP.

It's already hurting him. He's flatlined in the polls around 20 percent. I still don't understand how he's doing as well as he is here. Yeah, he'll do okay here, but when SC and Florida roll around, he's screwed.

Most of his former voters have moved here. Jeeze Louise, don't you know anything about shifting demographics?? :rotf:

All the more reason. MA has the highest insurance premiums and longest wait for a doctor, thanks in no small part to Romneycare.

In a position shift, Romney says the cause of climate change is unknown (http://thehill.com/blogs/e2-wire/e2-wire/190451-romney-questions-cause-of-climate-change)
Republican White House hopeful Mitt Romney is trying to cement his status as a skeptic of man-made global warming after coming under fire from conservatives for saying that humans contribute to climate change.
During a fundraising event in Pittsburgh on Thursday, Romney cast doubt on climate science, bringing his position on global warming closer to that of his rivals for the GOP nomination. >>>
Conservatives slammed Romney after he said in June that human beings were partly responsible for climate change, bucking the position of many in his party.
“I don’t speak for the scientific community, of course, but I believe the world’s getting warmer. I can’t prove that, but I believe based on what I read that the world is getting warmer,†he said in New Hampshire. “And No. 2, I believe that humans contribute to that.
Romney sings: "The answer my friend is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind." while standing with his finger in the air.
