Any DU'ers in South Australia?
My little boy and I will need a place to stay, temporarily, in a few weeks. PM me for details.

1. Or ANYWHERE in Australia?

Edited on Thu Sep-15-11 11:19 PM by Lyric

Not picky at the moment, but we need a place to stay and someone to meet us at the airport.

Edit: I promise, I am neither a psycho nor a closed-minded American. I just need somewhere to stay while pursuing a deadbeat father. I don't have a lot of money, but I am a mother on a mission for the benefit of her child. I will do nearly anything in pursuit of that end. PM me for details...

2. Please.

I can't offer you money, but I'll cook and clean and do anything else to earn my keep. There's a man living in South Australia who has avoided responsibility for his son for 11+ years. It's time to end that free-for-all and make him acknowledge his only son.

Please. I'll do anything. I am literally on my knees.

Has she considered maybe, oh I don't know, calling the Aussie equivalent of Child Services instead of flying herself all the way down there? Would save her a few grand.

Oh wow.  This has CF written ALL over it.  Australia is a pretty big place.  How are you going to find that man?  You are taking your child out of school to track down a man so he can see his Dad?  Shame on you.  You are a very bad parent.  My heart hurts for your child.

eta:  Not only does that poor boy already have a good idea he has been rejected by his father, you are going to take him on a wild goose chase across the world to reiterate that to him?  Jayzus!

My heart hurts for her child too because she constantly begs for things and uses him to get it.

Just a few months ago she claimed they were starving:

My sister and I decided that we could save money by moving in together, but this month, everything has gone wrong. She lost her Food Stamps due to a bureaucratic computer mistake and it's going to take weeks to fix. In the meantime, we've been trying to feed six people on Food Stamps meant for two. I couldn't just let my sister and her kids go hungry. I used *my* Food Stamps to buy groceries for all of us, but the amount I get isn't even close to the amount needed to feed six people. It's the end of the month and things are BAD. The freezer is empty and the fridge is empty of nearly everything that isn't a condiment. We have four kids to feed between us. They already had to do without Easter baskets or candy; I think I'll die if I have to tell the kids that they'll have to do without food. We've cooked all the ramen, spaghetti-o's, beans, and rice that we had. We've been to the food banks, but we can't go back for 3 months. I don't know what else to do.

Please god, help us feed the kids. Me and my sister are willing to do without, but the little ones need food. There are three boys (ages 7, 9, and 11) and one girl (age 12). They eat breakfast and lunch at school on the weekdays, but we need to feed them dinners on the weekdays and all meals on the weekends. My sister's Food Stamps won't be credited to her EBT card until the 8th at the absolute earliest, and maybe not until next month if the computer mistake takes longer to fix; please, please help us.

Gift cards for grocery stores are absolutely fine if you'd rather not send cash--the closest store to us is Kroger (which is best, since we don't have a car) but we can take the bus to Wal-Mart or K-mart if we have to. We could also use a few other non-grocery things like shampoo, soap, and toilet paper, but the food is the most important thing. We're down to 6 slices of bread, 1 egg, a bag of frozen peas, and some old lunch meat ham that I'm not sure is even good anymore. I have no idea what we're going to do for dinner tomorrow night.

Now she's off to look for child support after 11 years ?  Where did the tickets come from ?

Well, she asked other primitives for help.  On Skins's island.

And she's not getting it.

I'm sure she's going to blame the Republicans for it.

She once said she gets Wi Fi from the neighbor.

She's a pro at begging.  She just needs to keep her stories straight.

2. My sister is living with us right now partly because she was thrown out
of my Mom's house by Mom's bigoted landlord. My sister and I are both lesbians, and when the landlord found out that my sister was gay, he gave my Mom 3 days to get her out. He said, "I'm sorry, but I refuse to have a queer in that house". Mom protested and he changed it to 30 days, but he still refused to budge. Mom's lease is only month-to-month and there are no housing protections out in the rural area where she lives, so there wasn't much we could do other than demand 30 days instead of 3.

It sucks because my sister was living with Mom in order to CARE for her (Mom is disabled and very, very sick) but we didn't have any money for a lawyer to fight it out in court. So she and her kids are living with me and my partner now, and her own partner comes over and stays with us on the weekends. It's hard for everyone, but especially for Mom. There are no caregivers willing to donate their time, Mom is still in the 2-year-delay period in between getting Disability and getting Medicare to pay for a helper, and we can't afford a private nurse. It's just a ****ing nightmare.

Any DU'ers in South Australia?

Oh come now, Lyric, it stopped being a penal colony long, long ago.

And this thing has "A lot more to it than she posted" written all over it.  It's also damn' near a sex-for-lodging deal, the way she wrote it.

If she actually finds him what does she expect to happen? Is she expecting him to go "Got me... here's the cash"?

That's also been my question from the beginning.

I'm suspecting she just wants to vacation in an exotic locale.

Cairns, Australia, is pretty nice, from what we've heard of it from LC EFA here.

there are hostels all over Australia where you can stay for $12 or less per night, even a deadbeat DUmmie should be able to swing that.

Cairns, Australia, is pretty nice, from what we've heard of it from LC EFA here.

We stopped there for 4 days while returning from WESTPAC deployment in 2000.  It is a beautiful city, and the people there are some of the most friendly, welcoming folks I have ever met.

This whole thing was cringe-worthy and very hard to read.  And yeah, where did those tickets come from?  And if you are starving, why are you and your partner so morbidly fat?  Yes, you've discussed that on the internet.  I'm not sure you'll get a sex-for-lodging deal, unless you can find a chubby-chaser who enjoys the sound of needy whining.

But anyway...LC EFA and Skul, aren't you interested in the least?  Come on!  She's on her knees, ya know.

3. I wonder....
I too have child issues that go over international borders. My ex abandoned us when I was still pregnant with LyricKid and moved to Australia. Because he still lives outside of U.S. jurisdiction, I have not been able to force him to take the DNA test necessary to establish paternity. We live in poverty, and I know he has money that he inherited (or at least he did, if he hasn't blown it all already.) Child support would be immensely helpful to my situation. I did a quick read-through of the Hague Convention's site, and it seems that they ARE authorized to deal with things like the establishment of paternity and international child support orders.

Do you know anything about the process of getting help via the Hague Convention? Is there a specific route that I must take, or should I just contact them directly, or what?

Oh Lord.  What a freakin' crybaby.  I once killed a rabbit with a basketball.  I'll bet there are numerous cats and other edible things running around close by.  I can promise you that my family will NEVER starve as long as there is a single animal within killing range and I don't care if it is a neighbors cat.

This thing is lying through its teeth (keyboard).

She's an expert at begging.  None of her posts mention the word work.  She avoids it like the DUmmies avoid God.

I have to agree, if she can't take care of her child, she needs to give him up.

It has nothing to do with being poor.  It has everything to do with being a provider which she is not.  It's shameful to read her posts.

She's so proud of her poverty.  She does nothing to change it.

Jonathan Swift had an interesting idea.

...and the DUmmies barter system we used to call "just being neighborly".

...and the usual "tax the rich". If we can't get the poor to get up off their ass, we'll just tax the rich onto their ass, then everyone will be equally poor.

From what I've read at the DUmp, the way you get to The Hague is by frogmarching.

A sex-for-lodging deal, offered by a morbidly obese, mentally ill lesbian doesn't sound particularly sweet,
unless you dream of bunking with Chaz Bono.

Don't needs no ticket if you can squeeze yo'selves into a Conex and stowaway on a westbound container ship. I'm a little worried that she might eat the boy.

If she and her sister are Lesbanese how did they have kids?   :-)

She must have had a "questioning" period at some point in her youth   :mental:  Her sister as well considering that she has three kids.  Amazing how their whole family is apparently screwed up. Neither she nor her sister can support their children, and their mother is forced in live to month to month housing.

They figured out that dropping a kid and then haranguing the semen donor for support would keep them going.  Notice the DUmmie made reference to an inheritance, which she likely knew of before getting pregnant.

I really had an incredible time while visiting Cairns, I dove the reef 2 days running, and I actually gambled and won a decent amount of money at the casino.  It was like a excellent mini vacation in the muddle of the deployment.  One of these days I'm going back there.
