Click on the link. You will have to read this to believe it.
The NFL wants EVERYONE to get a TSA style pat down to enter a stadium. This means you will stand in line more than an hour just to get in.
and the NFL wants this?! they think it won't affect the numbers of people who go to a live event?
Are they crazy?

More proof TSA was just the start.
Desensitize the American "lemmings" and "drones" to this ... and where do you suppose it will stop?
It wont. Meanwhile PC expands at the expense of reason, logic and of course our liberties.
This is what generations of patriots died for? Oh, I forgot. This is what govt "education" is for. Which leads to how we elect frauds like Lord Barry who appoints America hating czars and other assorted clowns.
Sorry if I dont "jump off the cliff" with the rest of the herd, the Kenyan and his pals can have the "Greek columns".

People have to travel as a result of business or a need to get from Point A to Point B in less than a week.
People don't have to go to NFL games, and frankly, having been to a few, I don't really see the attraction in going to the stadium when the coverage on television is much better, and free.

Yeah...at home, I can get more beer than I would drink during the game for what one cold one costs in the stands, and nobody steals the cup.

To even consider this gross violation of common sense should convince us all that the NFL and the owners don't make nearly as much money from the fans who attend than they do through the television contracts and commercials that are sold.
Can anyone spell "empty stadiums"? (Or is that "stadia"?)

You're right as far as that goes, but the by-trade in restaurants, hotels, parking, concessions etc. from the gate is the reason cities give them those ridiculous sweetheart tax/bond deals on the stadiums, if that dries up they're setting themselves up for hard times when it comes to next round of new stadium construction.

An interesting point, DAT, but with a good many stadiums that have been built of late -- the new techie, corporate-named stadiums in particular -- how many more NFL cities are really vying for a new stadium now or in the near (say 5 years) future?
-
If LA ever wants football back (and I'm not convinced they do) they're going to have to pony up for a new stadium. No NFL franchise is going to want to play in the Coliseum or at the Rose Bowl, nor would the owners allow it.

I used to go fairly regularly (at least once a year) to see a NFL game live. The attraction was that it was "just us guys" time, originally between my dad and I, and then later, between my son and I. It started out that Dad would buy the tickets to a game that the two of us could go and enjoy together (usually whenever Oakland came into town). Then, when I got old enough to be out on my own, and had a bit of my own disposable income, I'd buy the tickets, and treat dad to the game.
Nowadays, dad's been dead for 4 years now, and my son is just as happy going with me to the local college games. I pay faaar less money than I otherwise might at a NFL game, get better seats (usually first row on the 50) and don't have to worry about my 7-year old getting groped by a perv with a badge and a gun. Yup. I really have no incentive to watch a game live anymore.

I've just simply never, evefr been to a real live Packer game @ Lambeau, and I'd really love to.
With the recent news here breaking, I'm not sure I want to anymore. :(
