The civilized America we have known may be about to end
One audience cheers at how many people Rick Perry has sent to death row.
Another audience cheers at the idea that an uninsured man should be left to die.
The entire Republican Party, and their offspring Tea Baggers, evidently hate the idea of community, common responsibilities and what most of us would define as morality.
Over the past three decades, we have moved step by step until we finally arrived at this really ugly point in our society. We have reached the point where so-called “Christians†such as Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann and others of their ilk, can stand up, utter some of the most despicable, inhumane things imaginable, and reap applause and followers, all of whom vote.
Next year’s election should scare the hell out of all of us, regardless of which Republican runs against Obama. Whoever that person is will do their best to kill Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, public education, federal oversight of anything and everything, and may even try to declare America “A Christian Country.â€
Right now, it looks like Obama is going to have a hard time getting reelected. And if he’s beaten by some Republican/Tea Party barbarian, it will be time for us to fold up our tents and leave if we possibly can.
And before you call me a defeatist, tell me how we can defeat these Huns who are already rigging next year’s vote in many states, and using every media outlet they own to tear Obama down and cheer on their own lunatic candidates.

The whole post is bullshit, but the morality part got my attention, how many times has the left said that you can't legislate morality, and that everyone has a different take on morality? Now they are arguing that we should legislate based on what they perceive as morality.

The demonization of the right has always been a part of DU.
They have built a fantasy image of republicans as so evil, that violence will be justified.
In fact, I think the Left will organize a campaign of violence for 2012. They cannot deal with the fact that the electorate is awake and unwilling to go along with a socialist takeover.
2012 is going to be an interesting year.

If the Left wasn't just so, well, hopelessly ineffectual, I might just be worried. It's entirely possible that their high pitched caterwauling as they lose their grip on power may lead to an outbreak of hearing loss, but violence? Not the average lefty's strong suit.
As it is I plan to get my fill of belly laughs watching Lib head asplode as Duh Won is given his pink slip next November.

Put on your "Tinfoil Hat" boys we're going for a ride....a friend of mine that buys into the Bermuda triangle, aliens and other wierd stuff says that the stores now keep track of who buys what ammo so the government can guesstimate who has what weapons. Sounds logical enough. Well, he's says the government pays special attention to those that are buying large quantities of buckshot and slugs. Fasten the chin strap on your "Tinfoil Hat"....He says he buys #8 and #7 1/2 bird shot and then uses it and 5 minute epoxy to fashion his own...????????? ...I guess that would work but they would still know you had bought a lot of ammo and owned a 12 ga. (whatever ga.) shotgun. I think the epoxy fumes have gotten to him.
I believe if I was going to do something like that, I would just melt the lead and pour it in a mold. Buy or scourage some fishing/tire weights to make up the slack.
Shoot, I'm still shooting up a some ammo that I aquired 42 years, 2 months and 12 days ago....I write the date of purchase on it when I get it. :-)

Supposedly, in the 60s and 70s, that's what inhabitants of Siberia used to do for protection, if they ran into a bear out in the woods. They'd have a birdshot (about the only thing one could get in Stalin's regime, or subsequent regimes) shell with beeswax poured in to make the pellets adhere to each other.

That sounds a lot better....should get better distance and when it hits, slows down a little in flesh, the pellets should spread out all over the place. That should wreck havoc on the human torso.

I'd agree. Any ammo I've purchased the only thing they want ID for is to verify I'm over 18. I'm old enough they haven't checked in about 10-15 years.

Yeah. That dude has his hat screwed on too tight. Anyone who's worried about it, just take a big wad of cash to a gun show, and load up. No credit card trail, no ID record. May or may not be as cheap as the really good on-line specials, but if the paper trail is the concern, that's the way to go.

The place I go has never carded me for ammo. I guess I've lost that youthful look :) I'm mulling over the purchase of my third pistol now.
