Venezuelan FM reasserts support to Carlos the Jackal
Source: El Universal
Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nicolás Maduro promised on Wednesday to continue supporting "from the human point of view" Venezuelan terrorist Ilich RamÃrez Sánchez. "Carlos," better known as "the Jackal," is serving a sentence to life imprisonment in France.
"From the human point of view, we will continue giving that support," Maduro said in an interview with state-run TV channel Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Efe quoted.
Upon a proposal from Sánchez RamÃrez's brother, Vladimir, to launch a campaign such as the Cuban lobby for five agents imprisoned in the United States, the Foreign Minister reported that they "keep in touch to back Ilich as a Venezuelan."
-------------------------------------
RamÃrez Sánchez, captured in Sudan in 1994, serves in France a sentence to life imprisonment for three attacks in 1982 and 1983 resulting in 11 people dead and 190 injured.

2. Right, because the correct answer is for a government to abandon its citizens
held in foreign prisons, right?
lol
What the article says is that the FM was approached to start a world wide campaign to free him and the FM demurred, offering only to support him as a citizen who deserves humane treatment.
If that isn't proof the bitch is a terrorism lover, I don't know what is.

You obviously underestimate the zeal of true believers.
Abraham and Isaac got nothing on hardcore commies. They'll slit your throat even after the angel tells them to stop.

Nuh-uh. It'll be Bush's fault for provoking them.

That depends. If the relative killed happens to be a conservative then they may not have much of a problem with it.

Bachus adds in another paragraph:
Hugo Chavez has defended the alleged terrorist mastermind Carlos the Jackal, saying the Venezuelan imprisoned in France was an important "revolutionary fighter" who supported the cause of the Palestinians.

8. Chavez is wrong. He should have just called him a diplomat like Obama did.
of Raymond Davis.
"If our diplomats are in another country, then they are not subject to that country''s local prosecution.... (Quote from Obama)
