Is Obama considered less friendly to the Jewish community than the Republicans? Is that why the Orthodox followers are working against him? Thanks.

God, are these DUmmies totally ignorant of the way Obama has treated Israel and Netanyahu ?

Count many jews (normally) among the DUmmies.

At least some of them momentarily got their heads out of their demoncrat butt holes.

For the moment anyways.

Eventually (40 years) the jews did "leave the wilderness to enter the promised land".

Glad they didnt wait that long this time (unless you include Hitler).

to tell us whether Brooklyn will stay so bad or is it just which precincts are reporting?

Anyone?

Also who had the better absentee effort?

No! it's a referendum on Obama and the Jewish Democrats are fed-up! Turner was endorsed by Dov Hikind and Ed Koch, both staunch supporters of Israel, and both are Democrats!

From David Weigel at Slate :-)

Quote
11:20: There's simply not enough of a Weprin margin in Queens to let him overcome the coming Turner landslide in Brooklyn. This is over, even if the AP waits a while to call it.
Bob Turner (R) defeats David Weprin (D)

Quote
11:31: Meanwhile, NV-2 will be called as soon as the trend becomes undeniable. This race fell off the map after Republicans made a massive investment in it and Democrats skeddadled away, leaving their candidate, Kate Marshall, to fend for herself.

There was a time when this district looked competitive. At more than 100,000 square miles, it's one of the largest districts in America, with a population center in Reno's Washoe County and Carson City flowing into endless deserts and small towns. In 2006 and 2008, Democrats held the GOP's candidate, Dean Heller, to 50 percent and 52 percent of the vote. In 2008, Obama lost the county by only 89 votes out of more than 330,000 cast -- John Kerry had lost it by 16 points. The result tonight will look a lot more like 2004 than 2008, a sign of a real Democratic backslide in one of the most economically depressed states.

Was it NY23 or 29 or something where the dems fronted a mole as a TP candidate that split the GOP vote allowing for a dem pick-up?

The DUmp claimed that 1 election was a national mandate.

It'd be nice to resurrect those threads for the DUmbass lurkers.

Two things about this concern me.

1. It's a good thing if this is because the Dem lost the Jewish vote because of Obama's actions and words regarding Israel and it translates nationally in 2012.

2. It could be a bad thing if Obama realizes it and reverses course with respect to Israel.  I think and hope that  he is too arrogant to believe he bears any blame for this loss, though.

I think Obama being anti-Israel is ingrained in him, he can try to change but I don't think it would work, Obama is surrounded by staunch anti-Israel people, he can try to change but no way can he turn his back on the Islamic World.

41. But it is a special election with an OLD, ETHNIC, SMALL, SOCIALLY CONSERVATIVE electorate angry at
Obama, and very worried about the economy.

He fails to mention the 3 to 1 moonbat registration advantage.

But this election doesn't reflect that much on the rest of the country. The overwhelmingly Jewish moonbat population
is going more than 2 to 1 against the democrat because the jug-eared muslim tells Israel to go piss up a rope.

Normal people see Israel as a vital, important ally, but in Brooklyn it's the Promised Land, and I think Brooklyn Jews are
beginning to see the plan their muslim democrat president has for it.

39. They can't poll organization.

The republicans have no ground effect. No organized organization in the district remotely compared to democrats. The seat has been strongly democratic for 90 years. They outnumber republican registration 3 to 1. Staying positive and understanding the fault with mere polling.

Let's give it up for my man Broderick !!!  :lmao:  He gave an exciting play by play tonight !!

Hey Broderick ?  BRODERICK ?????

Broderick has left the building.

I wrote this same post in another thread.

I am Jewish, and life a few blocks form the district. There was more to this election than is being reported.

Many of the jews in this district are Orthodox Jews, who are by nature very conservative, and only vote democrat because 90% of this city is democrat, and they "go with the flow" in order to stay connected to the broader political culture in the city. The democratic candidate was a Orthodox Jew, who nevertheless voted for gay marriage in the new york state legislature, where he was a member. His vote was one of the deciding votes that caused the law to pass. This did not go over well with the Orthodox Jewish population in NYC. The republican candidate was a Conservative Irish Catholic, who was against gay marriage.

Except for Ed Koch, the former mayor of NYC, endorsing the republican, I did not see many advertisements mentioning Israel as a reason to vote republican. But I saw many ads in predominately jewish media in the days before the election urging jews to vote republican over the gay marriage issue. Those ads were signed by many rabbis.

My Husband got up this morning and Fox was doing a story on it and my Husband said "did we win" he's so non-political so I thought it was adorable that he asked that.

Broderick is pure entertainment.  Sadly, Broderick, you just didn't use enough exclamation points.  If only you could have found a few more, you could have had this in the bag.

Can I just say that I have always found this screenname

2. It could be a bad thing if Obama realizes it and reverses course with respect to Israel.  I think and hope that  he is too arrogant to believe he bears any blame for this loss, though.

Well, he has the US trying to block a vote in the UN for "Palestinian" statehood and that was before this vote. It bought him nothing.

However, you're asking a narcissist to admit error. Clinton could triangulate because he was self-centered and wanted what was best for him and his political fortunes. Narcissism is on another scale; it cannot admit error. Others must be wrong but never the narcissist. If the others want something different they must be shown the error of *their* ways by proceeding undeterred if not doubling down.

I agree completely. Every liberal I have ever encountered was/is narcissistic, but Obama's is on a level I have never seen.

Pisses me off every time I see this snob vogue-ing his Benito pose. This image is my motivation to take a bath in rubbing alcohol, then crawl across broken glass to vote this prick out of office ASAFP.

The 9/11 memorial

Bush is appropriately bowing his head.

Obama is looking up at his son: God

This is not by accident.

That is likely true in his world.

Apparently his organization wasn't organized enough for a win.   :-)

Then I read:

Quote
Obama talked about his proposal to pay for the plan by raising taxes on big corporations and the wealthy, an idea that has not sat well with Republicans in Congress.

"We need to build an economy that lasts," he said. "If you love me, you gotta help me pass this bill."

I rest my mother ****ing case.
