Nope. He's the quarterback for the Evils.

You're a Cowboys fan, and you're calling another team evil? Um, yeah. I guess someone has to cheer for South America's team. S-N-O-R-T.

I've never seen Santa Claus pelted with snow at Texas stadium. No Cowboys fans that I'm aware of ever be ame giddy when an opposing player was lying on the turf with a career-ending injury.

Not when there's all that coke around, anyway.
Nah, I agree...it's an odd sensation, because I usually hate anything Philly related, but I find myself rooting for the man, just to poke the DUmbasses.
-
Nope. Anyone who would treat dogs like he did is twisted and doesn't deserve anyone's support. Anyone whose ever loved a dog realizes he's a vile human being. He's the OJ of man's best friend.

Eh, there's plenty of ways to poke at the dumbasses without supporting a vile, murdering bastard. And, to be completely honest, I'm betting alot of them are animal lovers as well and hate Vick with an equal passion.

Speak for yourself. BS from a loving owner of two dogs.

If I ever find myself letting what some phony MORON posted at the DUmp shape any opinion I hold one way or another it will be time to pull the sod over my head and take the eternal dirt nap.

Tough ****ing room today.

I am speaking for myself. It's what I think. I can't understand how anyone who loves dogs can think he's worth anything but scorn. You think otherwise. That's not a big deal.

Never liked Michael Vick before the dog fighting scandal because he is really arrogant and has an overinflated ego larger than any NFL player combined.
-
Would you like to buy some lead balloons?
-
I don't care how good Vic is at football. He is still a cruel sadistic asshole under that uniform. I would sooner shake the hand of a DUmmie that feels the same way then to shake his hand. Never trust a man who could treat innocent dogs like that.
-

I agree 1000 percent. H5!
-
First of all anyone that would treat an innocent that way is nothing but trash in my book. Human or animal I don't care.
Second he is from here and I am sick of hearing his name on the local news every day.
-

1. That santa episode was before I was born.
2. It was a drunk guy in a Santa suit, and it was a pretty sucky santa, from all accounts.

I became a quasi fan last year in spite of the fact he plays for Philly which has the most disgusting fans.

I am in absolute agreement. No difference between him and OJ except his victims.

Vick is an evil prick who would have had his ass kicked to the curb had he not been a football star. Hard to believe people are willing to ignore his actions in order to watch him play football.
As for Dallas, I leave you with this.

Of course they're disgusting, they're willing to forget that Michael Vick savaged innocent animals.

I am so glad that many here believe in redemption and forgiveness, its very DUish. While what he has done was horrible he deserves a second chance. I bet if he killed a person many here wouldnt be so full of hate for the man.I would rather root for for Vick then cheer Dallas any day of the f@#king week.
(yes I am an Eagles fan)

Second chance...ermmmm, no? Running a dog-fighting business isn't exactly a one-time mistake. It does require a fair deal of planning, time, organization and premeditation, not to mention good doses of greed & evil and a complete lack of conscience. **** Vick.
-
I don't think Vick ever served a day in prison for killing dogs.
He was convicted of sponsoring an interstate animal-fighting enterprise, which is a federal anti-gambling statute.
His sentence would have been the same if he'd never touched a dog.
The animal cruelty charges were local, and I think they were dismissed due to the severity of the federal sentence.
-
Vick was an exciting player at VT, and I pulled for him when he was in Atlanta. What he did to dogs was wrong, and he was punished for it. Some might not think it was enough, but whatever it is, it's over, he's served the time imposed upon him. From all accounts I've seen, he seems to be truly repentant of what he did, so I can't hold it against him forever. Should those appearances one day prove to be just that, then that would change things. But, I'm not an Eagles fan, so I don't pull for that team.

That ****er had a second chance the minute he chose to do it a second time. Anyone who harms a dog, let alone kills one/many (aside from humane euthanasia), deserves to die a painful death. Call me a DUmmie again.
-
I'm sorry I just can't get on board with the second-chance, he's-done-his-penance crowd. Nor the "DU'ers hate him so I'm a fan" ethic. And yes, I'd feel the same had he hurt an innocent human being.
Just one of the Vick-tims (warning, graphic) (http://images.elephantjournal.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Picture-232.png)
A suitable penance:

Saul of Tarsus purposely hunted down and had Christians imprisoned and killed before he became the Apostle Paul. He never spent a day in jail for it. Should he be forgiven?
Norma Leah McCorvey (Roe of 'Roe vs. Wade') has since changed her mind and become pro-life. Is she to be cast aside since she used to be in favor of abortion?
How many times does one forgive? Seventy times seven and all which encompasses that command of God.
I believe people can change. He says he has, and so far he hasn't shown otherwise. Sometimes the most ardent supporters were, at one time, the most vile of offenders. He shows otherwise and that's different.

I would hope Vick would lead the Eagles onto the Superbowl :D
I would love to hear the heads e'splodin from all the Vick haters when he held up that SB trophy. :rotf:

Sure I believe in forgiveness and redemption. Whether he truly understands the horror of what he did at this point is between him and God because at this point he hasn't proved to me here on earth that he is repelled by what he did. Other than a little time out in the big house (where he was probably treated like a celebrity) there have been no repercussions. He didn't just get caught stealing Ding Dongs from a 7-11. He tortured dogs because they didn't win a dog fight. Would you trust the guy to take care of your dog for a week while you went on vacation? Because had he not gotten caught do you really believe he wouldn't still be doing it? He only "saw the light" because he got nabbed.

Cindie, this man used as one defence argument that what he did was a cultural thing for Blacks and Whites in the south.
In order to have these fights, it is not the poor Blacks or Whites, it needs educated Veterinarians to treat the dogs before the fights, it needs the town police to turn another eye, it takes lawyers to set up the rules and regulations of the business.
The town itself that never questioned the zoning qualifying for the dog rings, the holding cages for the combatants and the good Christian folk that had to have known what was going on but ignored it.
Think that a small town knew that once a week people would come in droves to watch the fights, the small business owners benefited from the influx of out of townees, some of the police got over time directing traffic to the sight.
Cindie, this is a throw back to the ancient Coliseums and the bears fighting elephants and the Christians against the Lions. Human nature has no changed, we cheer at boxing matches and root for our favorite wrestler, we love the blood sports and pay big bucks to go to a Nasca race waiting to see a horrid crash.
Dogs, that is the one thing we get the most upset over, we are a nation loving dog society.
Had Vicks been fighting Roosters we would have just sat eating our KFC with interest, but the Dog is precious to humanity, God placed the dog here to protect us, hunt for us and give us complete love as no human will ever do.
That Vicks is a throw back to the times that glorified blood sports, he has no loyalty to anyone or anything. Look what he does for a living, gets out there and does his best to ram rod others.
Totally despicable in today's time, perhaps 1,000 years ago he would have been a hero but today he is a very sick in the head man.
-
I dunno, vesta, as a chicken keeper, I get upset about cockfighting too. I'll get upset about any animal, who doesn't know better or understand, being forced into combat by a human who does know better and understands just fine what they are doing.
I don't understand how anyone can get enjoyment by watching two animals being provoked into tearing each other apart. I just don't. But apparently there is a large enough fanbase of this vicious travesty that people are willing to risk jail time to participate. :bawl:
