MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — A man with a high-powered rifle and two other guns shot and killed five people at a West Virginia home and fatally shot himself hours later during a police chase in Kentucky, the authorities said Tuesday.
Troopers found the five bodies on Monday at a ramshackle home west of Morgantown in northern West Virginia, Capt. James Merrill of the State Police said at a news conference.
Captain Merrill would not comment on a motive or say how the suspect, Shayne Riggleman, 22, of Morgantown, was connected to any of the victims.
Charles Richardson Jr., whose son Charles was among the dead, said he did not recognize Mr. Riggleman’s name or know of his connection to the family. He said that he was not aware of any trouble his son was having with anyone.

KDKA reports that Riggleman was on a 3-state crime spree in KY, WV, and PA.

3. Someone in NV Said Today, This Happens in Third World Countries
not when gun ownership is so fricking high.
Thank God!!! Riggleman was cowardly in shooting unarmed victims. If they were armed, that wouldn't have happened.

5. Sadly more of these tragedies may need to occur before America supports a 2nd amendment repeal
It's disgusting how people cling to that outdated and no longer necessary piece of the Constitution while far too many Americans continue to be slaughtered on a daily basis.
Well, sucks to be you, cumstain DUchebag!

7. Nevada, Philadelphia, and now West Virginia?
Bottom line it is the guns, stupid.
SECOND AMENDMENT
A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free
State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be
infringed.
"They" always skip the well regulated militia part of the second amendment.
Sucks to be you too, DUchebag. SCOTUS already settled that one.

11. Some of our very finest DUers are in Mo'town
Lyric, Rhythm, Lefty Climber et al.
Yes, I know who they are, being from Morgantown and all.
-
How many fetuses did they scrape and suction out of women last year?

Or when are the primitives going to clamor for firearms to be taken away from criminals?
-
*lays gun on floor*
Gun: "I think I can, I think I can".
-
Like a CRIMINAL will pay attention to the law and decide "I'm not going to get a gun because that would be illegal". ::)

But, but, if there are NO guns they won't have any, you freeper!!!!!!!!
*turns off DU perfect world mode*

They can have my guns, but they're going to get the ammo first.
-
All the DUChes should move to Boston where you can no longer even have knife.
-
Seems to me the only one there that had a gun was the criminal(killer). So apparently any kind of gun law wouldn't have worked in the first place.

What is it about that part, they do not understand?
"regulated" circa 1776 = ability to shoot accurately.
Militia = the common man

Ya know something? Let's take that out a bit. "Well-regulated" circa 1776, forward to 2011, would probably be "ability to shoot an AR accurately." I'd settle for that . . . !

I run into that BULLSHIT a lot lately at public gatherings, like concerts and such.
I'm an old farm boy, I don't go anywhere without my pocketknife.
I have been told on several occasions I couldn't bring it into (insert theater, concert, building, airport, etc.) since it is considered a WEAPON! WTF! IT'S A KERSHAW POCKETKNIFE WITH A 1.5 INCH LONG BLADE! :argh:
The last time this happened, I put the knife in my sock and went in anyway. I will no more travel without my knife than I would without my wallet. "F" 'em!

It's the bayonet lug on the blade, that scares them. :-)
Makes your pocket knife look too "military".

Yeah, because disarming law abiding citizens has worked out so well in the past. :whatever:

This is what drives me nuts.
I'm probably the only adult male in this county of 4,000 who doesn't own a firearm, or even know how to use one, but I've always been a big supporter of the Second Amendment.
Anyway, when talking with anti-gun nuts, I always bring up the issue about criminals with guns; what are they going to do about criminals with guns, why aren't they concentrating upon getting guns out of the hands of criminals with guns?
I'm usually told that's a "stale old cliche."
Well, damn it, it may be old and stale and a cliche, but it's true.

Hey Frank, you were quoting me but Chris got the credit...and it's Chris's fault.
I was at my sons night soccer game a few days after 9/11. A medical helicopter circled the field as the hospitall was only a few hundred feet away. Everybody and everything came to a deathly silence for a few moments. I don't know why but my sons coach said they should outlaw guns. Huh? What brought that on? well, anyway, I asked him to look around. I asked him if he felt safe. His answer was, "Welllll...yeah." I then told him that by S.C. Law, guns were not allowed at sporting events...even people with concealed weapons permits aren't allowed to have them there....I then told him that if there were any weapons there that night that they were either in the hands of criminals or terrorist. I asked him if he had a weapon with him, of course the answer was, "No". I then said something like, "Well, there ain't one damn law abiding citizen here with a weapon that can stand between you and your family and the criminals and terrorist. Do you still feel safe?" I got no answer.

And when are you going to change that, Coach?
Hopefully, soon.

You know of course, Coach has a distinct advantage over the rest of us.
His only concern would be felt recoil.
If he ever did start shooting, he may put the rest of us to shame.

"What do you feel when you shoot someone?"....."Recoil".
Remember that one?..... :lmao:

No point in it.
I have a 1-3/8" S/K adjustable wrench that can wreak considerable damage, even from a distance.
That's my defensive weapon of choice; it suits the body, the temperament, the style.
I once saw an old man whose dog had been killed by a drunk, take the whole lower jaw off the perpetrator.
An unforgettable sight; I still remember everything of it. I was about 20-25 feet away, and 10 years old.
If I had to, I'm guessing I could be pretty lethal with a 1-3/8" S/K adjustable wrench; I have three of them.
