FBI agents armed with search warrants descended Thursday morning on bankrupt solar company Solynrda.
The investigation comes after a request by the Department of Energy's inspector general, FBI spokesman Peter Lee told NBC Bay Area News.
Agents arrived at Solyndra at 7a.m. and were examining the factory. Solynrda has a skeleton crew of 100 workers on the scene, who are closing the factory down.
Solyndra filed for bankruptcy last week, shocking both workers and the Obama administration, which had given the startup $535 million in low interest loans. Congress has demanded a hearing into the matter.
There are no reports of any arrests at this time.
Solyndra officials made numerous visits -- 20 -- to the White House, according to logs and reporting by The Daily Caller. ...

Congress Calls Hearing About Huge Loan to 'Connected' Energy Firm
The collapse of the politically-connected solar energy firm Solyndra has unleashed a barrage of fresh questions from House and Senate investigators, who want to know why the Obama Administration agreed to invest $535 million in the now-bankrupt company, and what can be done to recover those funds.
The House Energy and Commerce Committee's investigative panel announced it will hold hearings next Wednesday on the government's Solyndra loan. ABC News and iWatch News have also learned that Senate investigators have begun seeking answers from the administration about the deal.
"How did this company, without maybe the best economic plan, all of a sudden get to the head of the line?" said committee chairman Rep. Fred Upton, R.-Michigan, in an ABC News interview last week. "We want to know who made this decision ... and we're not going to stop until we get those answers."

It all seems rather murky. Begs the question why are they really there, to seize records and squirrel them away somewhere (shredder)?

Obama Officials Sat In On Solyndra Meetings
By RONNIE GREENE and MATTHEW MOSK
iWATCH NEWS and ABC NEWS
Sept. 9, 2011
Officials from the Department of Energy have for months been sitting in on board meetings as "observers" at Solyndra, getting an up-close view as the solar energy company careened towards bankruptcy after spending more than $500 million in federal loan money.
Word of the Energy Department's unusual arrangement came as federal agents on Thursday converged on the California headquarters of the failed solar company, focusing fresh attention on the first corporate beneficiary of President Obama's stimulus program to create new clean energy jobs. ...

Unusual? Sounds downright incestuous.
And on that note:

They're trying to hide the fact that Al Gore was a part owner, lol.
And I would bet $14,800 is the tip of the iceberg as far as political contributions back to the hands that fed them. Need to see a list of the stakeholders in that company.

I heard on the news today that Bush turned down loaning them money at the end of 2008.

I heard that it was done within days of ObeyWon taking over.
On a side note to the original article. I do not trust the Feeble Brained Idiots under Holder to turn over any damning materials.

No doubt, that was used for kindling while they dined on their arugula

This scandal is building a lot of steam. ABC has reported on it the last 2 days, but, tonight's coverage hits directly at the White House: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7wBzuhWj0A&feature=share
And it seems that there are plenty of whistleblower's willing to talk. This lady called Mark Levin last Wednesday, then the next day the Feds showed up: http://www.therightscoop.com/solyndra-employee-everyone-knew-the-plant-wouldnt-work/
I think Fast and Furious should have more *legs* because of the loss of life and violence involved, but, it can turn into an Enron, and directly tie in the White House, I am all for it.

Can someone find me a transcript of that telephone call?

Curiously enough, one of the other big investors in Solyndra was a big campaign contribution bundler for Obama. However, this guy will most likely get his money back, but we the taxpayers are screwed.
This almost seems like the Demonrat/Union donation schemes.

The government actually negotiated away the right to be paid back in a bankruptcy filing...damn strange.

I checked MarkLevinShow website, and no luck, he does not have the Insider type thing that offers transcripts, and Googling Mark Levin transcripts was a bust. If it helps, "jenny" was saying she worked for the firm that built the Solyndra plant, and everyone knew it was not sustainable, but, they knew it was a government contract, thus they would get paid, and paid well. Sorry I am not of more help.

where are Woodward and Bernstein?

There's an audio link there.
While we were out there, while we were building it — cause it is a half a billion dollar plant — everyone already knew that China had developed a more inexpensive way to manufacture these solar panels. Everyone knew that the plant wouldn’t work. But they still did it. They still built it.
