I have decided to send Obama my resume . . .
After 7 months of being unemployed and with no hope in site of finding a job, I have decided to send President Obama my resume, so that he knows what kind of job I am seeking. I need a social service job, it is where my education and training is and at this point in my life (50 and with bad knees)the prospect of going back to school and training for something else is rather daunting. Besides the fact that I have two degrees already and can't get financial aid to go back to school other than student loans. (I paid on the last of those 10 years ago and really don't want to be trying to retire and pay on student loans at the same time.) I know alot of people are without work and he is trying to come up with jobs to help in general but I can't clear brush after a storm (what some of the stimulus money went to around here)or dig ditches. Surely, there is a social program that took cuts that could use some solid, experienced, "mature" personnel?
Icky manual labor is for MEXICANS! (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x1899308)
That's what the social welfare culture of the 60's and beyond have gotten us. People who are, as actual work goes, worthless. Shovel-ready jobs? Bullshit. The DUmmies are crying out for but-my-knees-hurt jobs.

Exhibit A of Why There Can be No "New Deal"
The DUmmies are crying out for but-my-knees-hurt jobs.
Well, you know, there is a lot of truth to that beyond the DUmmie's self-pity wallow-fest. Between changes in birth rate, the Boomers, and changes in life expectancy, the demographics of the 1930s are wildly different from the demographics of today. A much larger percentage of workers today are mid-career middle aged people not fit to do that kind of work, and the way construction is done now involves a lot fewer 'Boots on the ground,' especially unskilled ones, than it did then for several different reasons.
Bottom line, the times, the workforce, and the way work is done just aren't comparable, and trying to ram a square peg into a round hole on this can't turn out well.

But the DUmmies won't do "whatever they can." They point to their bullshit touchy-feely degrees and demand a wage and a full pension for 'social work.' In short, they want more money and less work than people in the 30's were willing to accept. In any case, I think it would get a lot of them off anti-depressants and insulin if they got out and at least attempted to do manual labor. But noooooooo. They got a BA in Literature in 1982! Can't we pay them $25/hr to read Jane Austen to convicts?

I think that's ruled out by the Eighth Amendment.

I think that's ruled out by the Eighth Amendment.
What if they read one of Austen's lesser-known novels, like "Thunderdick Johnson and the Harem of Fly-Assed Bitches?"
-
True, it might work out if translated into Modern Loser, for instance "Proud-ass bitches and Prejudiced Mutha****as."
-
Face it. No DUmmie wants a job. They all want a "position".

:lmao: BFDU, you are so funny... :rotf:

This is the most pathetic sentence I've read all day long, and I've been reading Raph's retrospective of 2004, so that's saying something. Does she think he reads mail? Reads her mail? Does she think he cares two shits about the likes of her?

25. You don't want to work for Obama for America.
Worst job I ever had. 14 hours a day, 7 days a week. Violated every labor law ever written. If ever there was a group of workers that need a union, its Obama for America. The salary will sound decent but after you get done figuring out how many hours you've put in, it ends up being about $1.42 per hour.

And for most of them, it's "bottom" or "catcher."

Shovel-ready jobs?
Sounds like the DollyM primitive wants a swivel chair-ready job.

That would be considered cruel and unusual punishment for the convict and require lip massages for the dummy. Eweee at the very thought of dummy lip massages. :sheep:
