Just got a fully licensed copy of Windows 98.
Here's what I want to do (I have some legacy software I want to run):
1. Build a virtual computer on a 16G SD card
2. Have it run W98
3. Use the optical drive in the Windows 7 laptop to run the legacy stuff, also the speakers, trackpad etc.
It would be just super cool if I could plug the card in and have the computer recognize it and start running it with minimal interference from the loose nut behind the keyboard (me).
Soo...
Am I dreaming or what?

I have a free scaled-down copy of XP that runs from a CD. I can run XP apps from USB, network, or local drives with it. Not sure what the performance is like though, but it's usually enough to run antivirus and a few other apps.
The only virtual environments I'm familiar with are both Microsoft products that run in Windows 7 machines... Virtual XP (good) and MED-V (sucks).
You probably could have picked up an old machine to install 98 on for the cost of that 16GB SD card. :-)
