"I pledge that if any U.S. troops, contractors, or mercenaries remain in Afghanistan on Thursday, October 6, 2011, as that occupation goes into its 11th year, I will commit to being in Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., with others on that day or the days immediately following, for as long as I can, with the intention of making it our Tahrir Square, Cairo, our Madison, Wisconsin, where we will NONVIOLENTLY resist the corporate machine by occupying Freedom Plaza to demand that America's resources be invested in human needs and environmental protection instead of war and exploitation. We can do this together. We will be the beginning."

The revolution will begin soon.

If you can't go, go to the website and contribute money for the prolonged occupation of Washington DC.

And if you can't wait and think Wall Street is the problem check out this prolonged occupation:

Now this one is a believer. Although I did not think you could afford to travel on what SSI doles out.

3. I'll be there in spirit.

Thanks for doing what I can't. Stay safe!

K&R!
And we finish with what has been the typical DUmmie response to any call for physical action, the Armchair Protestâ„¢. The majority of the posts will be of that variety.

Only 3 post so far but maybe this one will catch on.

Can anyone tell me what Purina, Frito-Lay and Snapple have to do with Afghanistan?

Doubtful anyone will notice them being there.
Epic fail.

I doubt the cops in DC will have the same kind of hands-off attitude the public-employee union cops in Wisconsin had with protestors trying to keep power in another in-state bloated public employee union.  I also don't expect much of a real turnout, at least beyond one weekend, for this stupid waste of time.

I would glady support pensions for cops if they would crack more hippie skulls. Somewhere a cop is enjoying a warm afternoon in Sun City on the public dime, his hands still humming from bringing the nightstick down on Moonbeam. And I LOVE IT.

Please tell me what and where today's hippies are, the hippies of yesterday have been gone for 30+ years.    Same as the Beatnicks of the 40 and 50'ies.

The Hippies of the past are now in their 50-60 years old, What ever the kids are today are nothing like their parents or grandparents,   these kids today are a new breed, totally different from the past kids in their youth.

No freedom rides  from the north to the south to change the segregation laws, few sit ins for any cause except for tree hugging and save the frigging whales.

Hippies have died off, no such thing in today's world.  Kids can try to go back in time to the Hippie life, but  life has moved on.    People live at the very time they are born into, to try to replicate that time far in the future is not going to work.

Anti-war rallies.  Burning Man.  Folsom Street Fair.

So much extra napalm, so many missed opportunities.

Go to Austin, Berkeley, Eugene, or any other college town and you'll see the places are lousy with hippies. Best way to attract them is to yell, "HEY, IS THAT THE NEW DECEMBERISTS DISC????" Duck and cover; prepare for the breeze from the facial hair.

What I do expect are a few photos taken while the square is full of tourists, so the left can inflate their numbers.

Mheh.

Plenty of space on the grass in the mall.

Who's really going to notice 20 greasy hippies.

Always wanted to go to Burning Man. Kind of my version a safari I guess.
