Do you believe the stimulus plan kept us out of a deeper recession?

That it would have been much worse if the stimulus had not been spent?

A former WH aide mentioned this on one of the earlier talk shows today on MSNBC. I don't recall his name off the top of my head. Jared ??

Do you think it would be much worse right now if the stimulus had not happened?

Isn't this a point that Democrats should be making?

Yes Kentuck unemployment would be at 100% if 0bama hadn't of spent that money, just like health insurance would have gone up in price if they didn't pass 0bamacare.

12. And another talking point they are never called on....

Republicans call it "a trillion dollar stimulus" plan. In fact, it totaled about $800 billion dollars and only about one-third went to job creation. One third went to taxcuts for working class. The other third went to state and local governments to keep policemen on the street and teachers and firemen on the job. The states could not afford them. Now that the stimulus has run its course, we are back at the same spot.

800 billion is peanuts, a trillion on the other hand would be real money.  :whatever:

I love watching them trying to spin 0bama's failures.  :rotf:

If Obama wants to stimulate the economy and create jobs, all he has to do is revoke Obamacare, stop threatening to increase taxes on small businesses and their owners, and drop the corporate tax rate 5%.  If he got that all done in the next 2 weeks, we'd probably be in such good shape by the next election, he'd get 4 more years even without the leftist base.

It wasn't just that, DUmmies.  Yes, the porkulus bill was just over $800 billion.  Couple that with the over $700 billion TARP bill (yes, I know Bush signed it, but he couldn't have had a DEMOCRAT-controlled Congress not passed it) and the $450 billion omnibus bill right after porkulus, and the over $5 TRILLION in new debt in under 3 years--funny how you never hear about "record deficits" in the MSM anymore--and NOW you're talking some serious money.

And what did all that do?  Can you get a refi from the bank with less than a 780 FICO?  Get a home loan at all?  Business loans?  Are people hiring, or are they hunkering down, getting ready for the shitstorm of regulation that's about to hit in 2013 when 1--the "Bush tax cut extension" expires, 2--the onerous regulations and taxes from Obamacare start rolling in?

I'm gonna tell you something that you're not going to like.  In fact, I KNOW you're gonna hate it, DUmmies.  Want to create jobs?

Get rid of the ****ing Democrats.  All of them.  Get government off our ****ing backs.  Out of our lives, out of our workplaces.  Should we be entitled to a safe workplace?  Sure--but OSHA, the EPA, and every other alphabet agency has to stick their noses into the workplace and make it so damned near impossible to comply that people have simply given up.  Easier to sit on one's ass than try to please those who will never be pleased.

H5 for reading my mind.  Didn't some study find that FDR's actions during the Great Depression actually extend said Great Depression by some 7 years?

Keynesians are idiots.

The primitives are woefully ignorant of mathematics.

The primitives think there's not much of a difference between a "billion" and a "trillion," other than the first letters of each word.

One billion seconds ago, it was sometime in 1978.

One trillion seconds ago, it was sometime in 29,000 B.C.

NO. It has prolonged the recession.  Remember that the recession ended in July 2009. Kind of amazing how in less than 5 months 0bama brought us out of the recession. Of course with no help from BUsh.

The problem is most new jobs were added in the public sector. Without a vibrant private sector there are no way to pay those exorbitant government salaries.
