So it's official: I am dying
The treatment planning meeting yesterday gave us some bad news. Besides the tumor in my tongue, there is activity in my lungs and liver. Even with aggressive surgery, I would only be buying a few months. I can try chemo, which might shrink all the tumors some, but we're still only looking at a year, at the most. The doctor said 18 months would be beyond the range of possibility.
DU, I've loved you, and when I cross over, I expect to hang around in some heavenly Lounge with Kheph and Andy and 180 and all the DUers who have gone to the Great Internet in the Sky. I'll keep you updated when I can.
So it goes.
Tucker

2. Ah, Tucker. I hope the coming year gives you many good moments.
And I hope you come back and share when you can. It's a pleasure knowing you.
Before or after the transition?

12. Oh, Tucker...I don't know what to say.
I obviously don't know you, but have read your posts enough to know what a good and kind soul you are. Just my personal beliefs, which I try to never impose on anyone else, but I believe that your kind, compassionate soul will not cease to exist. My eyes though, are welling up as I type this. May the love of your family and friends help sustain you as you approach the end of this journey.

44. I wish you only peace. Totally.
I saw this on a church marquee:
Know God. Know peace.
No God. No peace.

80. DU is clearly here for you -
myself included, even though I'm not good with words in this kind of situation. Thankyou for allowing me to be reminded. After some of the things I have read about another DUer who also recently faced serious health problems with much help from the lounge, I was feeling pretty negative about the place. But the truth is, we mostly are capable of compassion and caring.
Thanks for helping to unite and for reminding us how this place can have very real effects on individuals.
I wish you comfort and peace.
Kali
You hypocritical bitch. Your compassion and caring only extends to DUmmies.

97. Can't you get to a cannabis clinic... Start asking around. There are about ten states that have
these clinics... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAVwWtxeGjA
That's it. Keep partying to the end.

So you think religion is political?
There are a few who offer a witches remedy. Those people need to be burned at the stake.
-
Muslims get 72 virgins and all the wine they can drink. DUmmies get a dial-up internet connection.
-
On an unrelated note, there are 431 days til the next presidential election.
Hope she gets better, I really do.

Tucker, may you find the strength in the coming days, weeks, hopefully years.
May God watch over you, and give you the best surprise, when the time comes.
My thoughts and prayers honestly do go out to you. :(

No.

No.
Thanks, wasn't familiar with the poster. My best wishes to her then.

Just said a Prayer for her now.
And to our Tucker, you're better than that, seriously, compassion for another human being transcends politics.

I am so sorry to hear this, Tucker.
You'll be in good company on the other side.
The primitives' viewpoint of the "great beyond," especially based upon their rejection of Truth, consistently astounds me, though on another level I'm not surprised they fool themselves into believing they are righteous. You simply can't reject what is clearly revealed and then feign ignorance of it and expect to be rewarded in a positive way.
I suppose the words itself is comforting to hear, until the end comes and you realize that's all it was.

That was what I was trying to illustrate with my OP. They are totally delusional in their perception of death and beyond.

This is actually a follow up to an earlier thread about her illness. Except for the email quip, which may be misconstrued as a little snarky, I have not been discourteous to aliengirl in either thread. My ridicule has been directed toward the collective white light believing, DUmbasses.
For you reading pleasure.

I understand. Thing is their seeming determination to stand firm in their incorrect viewpoint won't change the final outcome. They do the same thing with their political viewpoints, but this is much higher stakes, and permanent.

It would not surprise me to find that most of the people giving her vague, New Age-type wish-you-wells were card carrying hard atheists.

A swipe at Skin's for TSing the MiddleFingerMom primitive (a mom named Jim) from the kali primitive, saying Skin's is outside the realm of those who are "capable of compassion and caring."

I have a hard time feeling sorry for people who let politics determine who gets to die in peace and who should burn in hell.

I've seen both sides do that way too many times.

I sincerely hope and pray that Aliengirl figures out what does determine who gets to die in peace before it's too late.

She's not a RETHUGLIKKKAN, so I guess her odds of going to heav- oh, wait. They don't believe in God, so how can there be a heaven?

I knew a Priest once who would visit the sick at people's homes and various Hospitals. There was a Patient once who was an Atheist, the Priest had a good sense of humor and the Atheist liked his jokes, he felt comfortable talking to him. One night the Priest got a call from a Nurse on the wing asking the Priest to please come right away to talk to the man (the Atheist) the Priest went over there and the Atheist asked the Priest to Bless him, the Priest did, the man died that night.
