The wife and I are looking to replace our well aged 1995 Ford Exploder. I'm looking for user opinions from those that owned or own SUVs from the early 2000's (2000-2003) as that's what we can afford to look at ($6500 or less)
What we like so far:
Chevy Trailblazer
Toyota Pathfinder
or the like.
Lots of milage without issues?
Thanks in advance. :cheersmate:

wife has a 05 gmc envoy. we bought it 3 yrs ago. it now has 120,000 miles. other than oil change, tires and brakes we've done nothing. it has autoride (airbag suspension) which occasionally has a control valve stick so it will squat when parked over night and you have to wait for it to pump up before driving off. im probably going to do some routine maintenace (fuel filter, plugs/wires, etc) before winter.
id recommend it.

Thanks, that's what I'm looking for. :cheersmate:

I got a 2004 Buick Rendevouz in 2005 and I love it. Never had a problem and it has 160k miles. I drive hard.

We have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd, with well over 100,000 miles. (don't know exactly how many). Outside of usual care and maintenance including tires, brakes and batteries....we've replaced the starter and fuel injector in the last 6-8 months.
It's been a great car, I'm quite fond of it! I had it as a lease car, it only had 8 miles on it when I got it, then M bought it when my lease was up.

I drive hard.
I'll bet you do.
Thanks guys. Giving me some good ideas.

I like it!!!!
M and I were just discussing cars for me. He suggested this one or a Kia. Let me know how it's doing. I don't want to lease a car anymore and I don't want a brand new as I don't drive enough anymore to justify the cost.

We haven't had it very long, but I will say this, the car is VERY solid. Really good build quality. It has 125K miles on it and purrs like a kitten. No squeeks, rattles or odd noises.
The 3.5 L V6 has great power.
Plus this thing is LOADED, Power everything, heated seats, Monsoon stereo, etc. I'm still trying to figure out what buttons do what. :panic:
I'm 6'3" and there's plenty of leg room.
It's a damn nice car.
My wife is "happy". So am I. :naughty:

What a pretty vehicle. I have an '05 Pilot and I love it. Just put in some good regular maintenance work on her so hopefully she's good to go for the next year or more. :)Similar to the Santa Fe and I looked at those when I purchased this a few years back. It will be paid of soon and I plan to buy something new(er), a smaller car, that I want the 13 year old to drive when she's of age(we hav ea deal since she's the oldest and has to help with brothers--ie driving them around too at some point, she probably will have access to a family vehicle to use--lol) for such things. Probably by then I'll be ready to retire the ole Pilot and look for a new SUV--I love them, especially up here where it snows. I'm sure you both will really enjoy it--only thing I wish I had done was get the next newest year. I think I was one year shy of the MP3 jacks being right in the vehicle, but the little conversion thingie works quite nicely :cheersmate:
