SAN DIEGO (AP) -- San Diego police say a boy throwing rocks at vehicles was struck in the abdomen by a crossbow bolt fired by a passenger in small sport utility vehicle.
Officer Dino Delimitros says the boy and a friend were throwing rocks in the Linda Vista neighborhood Monday afternoon when a passenger in a black Toyota RAV4 pulled out a crossbow and fired.

I must have lost my heart because I have no sympathy for this little boy.
-
He won't be doing that again.
-
He won't be doing that again.
Nope, not if he got the point.
-
Yea, he is unlikely to have any stomach for it.
-
It is a gut wrenching story though
-
No sympathy here. The WAY he got his injury may not be correct, but WHY he got it is not in question.

Why? These little aholes with no value on human life could cause someone to crash and see his/her entire family killed by this little punk trying to get his rocks off. They should have aimed higher.
-
One days it's throwing them from the side of the road, the next it's on an overpass. I hope the little shit learns something from this, but I have my doubts.
-
My, that's so sad...sad it wasn't a carload of MS13s, Bloods, or Crips who would've used a machinegun on his ass and gotten his little pal too, and then hopefully been chased into a fiery, fatal crash into a bridge abutment by the popo.
And yes, I am a heartless bastard.

we were punning. You need to bow out of this thread

I was walking my son in our neighborhood yesterday and was making a u-turn in a culdesac (in a residential area with a 30mph limit) when a car full of idiot teens came down the hill at about 60 miles per hour, straight for us. They had to lock up the brakes on the car, I pushed my son's stroller up into a yard behind a big ass oak tree.
The driver had the nerve to toss out a laughing "Sorry dude" as he turned around in the culdesac. I knew he was a minor, and that's the only reason I didn't yank his ass out of the car and beat him silly right then and there. Would have been more legal trouble than it was worth.

Or just a tiny bit lower.

True, but there's a lot to be said for instant gratification. :hammer:
Being that the article states the crossbow was fired from a moving vehicle it must have been one of those small pistol sized models.
Small crossbow fired from the sitting position in a moving vehicle at a small target and he hits the X ring with one shot?
Dude is rocking some huge skills! :cheersmate: :II: :bow2:

:argh: :argh: Where is the parental or adult supervision???? i would have done stop the car, asked this kid where their parents were, marched up to the door and told parent their child was throwing rocks at passerby's.

nowadays the little bastards would probably pull a gun on you or you would be sued by the parent's for humilating the kid

I wouldn't!! Some parents would care, of course, but certainly not all. I once mentioned to a woman I knew that her kids had started a sand-throwing fight at the park, and a bunch of sand got in the eyes of a smaller child. She instantly puffed up and informed me that her kids had not started that fight, the "other kids" started it!!!! Never mind that I was there, watched it start, knew who started it, and took care of the kid that was 4 or 5 years younger than her bullies. Or that she knew I'd been there...and she wasn't. ::) ::) Her kids were never wrong!! ::) ::) Unfortunately, this is a very common attitude anymore.

possibly, but then she would be incriminating herself, because a judge would say to her, "Where were you?? how come you were not supervising your child?"
So many what ifs in these situations.

Did the child die???

We had one of those mother's living right next door to my parent's growing up. Her daughter's and son were perfect. Never did anything wrong. One got a DUI at the age of 19, the other had about 12 sexual partners by the age of 17, and her son shoplifted all the time. Then this mother had the nerve to tell my mom that I was a bad influence for her children. ::)

Yeah, I've seen those particular kids in the police reports several times. You've got to wonder if mom still thinks they're perfect.

after reading this story, it appears to me that you should have been packing a small, lesson-teaching, packable, accurate, fun to shoot crossbow.

It is OK SEA, I when I read the story also thought this was a little kid not a male just a few months off from being old enough to vote.
Something about this story stinks, why was the shooter riding in a car with a fully loaded cross bow??
How fast was the car going at the time ------Like bullets any projectile is influenced by the wind speed and the atmospheric pressure at the time.
How far from the road were the kids standing when the boy was shot, I have never seen a small cross bow with a 50 pound pull. Not to say they don't have them but I have yet to see one.
My guess is that if in fact the kids were throwing rocks at cars, the driver and passengers saw this from driving in the opposite direction, went up the road loaded the bolt, turned around and were ready to teach this kid a lesson. The car could not have been going more then a crawl if not stopped when the bolt was fired.
Or for some reason the shooter is the worlds greatest archer and needs to be in the military.
-
No sympathy here either. 16 and throwing rocks at cars?
It was only a matter of time till a carload of gang members shot the kid dead. This one got off easy.

If he threw rocks at a carload of MS-13, they'd probably string his ass up instead.
-
I suppose his flight of fancy diden't turn out so well?
-

Yes they do. There are myriad examples of that at the DUmp. You see those threads over there quite often where mom has posted about the evil cops arresting their little baby for 'x' and how wrong it was.
