Casino attack in Mexico's Monterrey kills 53   Updated at 9:46 AM

MONTERREY, Mexico (Reuters) - Masked gunmen killed at least 53 people at a casino in northern Mexico on Thursday, leaving it ablaze with patrons trapped inside in one of the worst attacks in a major Mexican city in years.

Analysts and officials said the brazen assault had all the hallmarks of drug cartels that have plunged Monterrey and other parts of Mexico into a spiral of violence.

A survivor said the armed men burst into the Casino Royale in the prosperous industrial city of Monterrey on Thursday afternoon and threatened gamblers before spraying gasoline on the carpets and setting it on fire.

"My wife came here for a celebration," a weeping man told Milenio TV. "She was having dinner with her friends." ..........(more)

4. Did somebody get lost in the maze and bomb the place?

I know it's very sad that this happens in the U.S. model oligarchy. Legalize.

2. Nothing like images

And I might add, this is the "success" of the war on drugs, really.

We had the shoot out outside the soccer stadium in Nuevo Leon on Saturday...

Yup the war is a ragin' success...

:sarcasm:

It pains me, but Mexico might be close to a collapse.

If murder and extortion were legal, you would take all the profit out, so criminals would leave it alone, then you could put a huge tax on it and use that money for treatment!

So burning to death 52 or so human beings is caused by the illegality of drugs, and not the monstrous, murderous greed of the individuals who performed this act?

If drugs were legal, they would be happy peaceful taxpaying citizens because legal products are not profitable?

WOW! I mean freakin' WOW! The stretching of moral relativism is simply amazing here. It seems to me, if drugs were legal and not sufficiently profitable to warrant their involvement, the drug gangs would step it up a notch to things that WERE sufficiently profitable. Like, say, murder, kidnapping, and extortion.

"If drugs were legal, there would be less crime"
There would be less crime if murder was legal, too...

The drug cartels in Mexico will not disappear with legalized drugs.
The Mob did not disappear when alcohol was legalized.

There is a lot of power and money in organized crime. Why would any mobster just give up if his contraband was now legal? The cartels in Mexico rule the country.
DUmmies know this.
DUmmies know the cartels will continue to kill. DUmmies don't care.

DUmmies are just using the mayhem to get what they want: Drugs.

The drug cartels are the DUmbass's greatest friend. Just consider what would happen if the cartels did actually disappear, and democrats could buy legal dope.

The first thing that would happen is the FDA would take over the testing and approval of dope before sale. Long clinical trials would be required to assure the optimum safe buzz, and strict regulations would be developed for dope manufacturing, packaging, labelling, and shipping.

The state bureaucracies would take over regulations on local sales, record keeping, and protection of The Children.

Trial lawyers would swarm on the industry, bringing multi-million dollar lawsuits in every case of a bad trip or an accidental OD casualty.

DUmmies would long for the day they could cruise through democrat sections of town, hail nearly any young supporter of the jug-eared Kenyan, and score a dime bag. The burdens of federal and state regulation and control would quickly change the dime bag into the double dime joint.

I don't think the DUmbasses realize what they would get with legalization of dope.

The first half of your post is exactly correct, but I'm afraid the second half vastly overestimates the mental capacity of the DUmmies.  The same DUmmies who believe there can be free college educations as far as anyone wants to go, free medical care, free lodging with utilities, etc., etc., and that the government could somehow pay for it all...

"Why not? The government has all the money."

I hear that almost daily.
