Why not? The fed gov't argument when they sued AZ over SB 10 was that illegal immigration was exclusively a federal issue. If they want to claim they own it, they can pay for it.

Perry knows going in that the feds will never pony up that money.

It's purely political grandstanding and nothing more.  :whatever:
