Grizzly shooter garners support

A man was defending his family. No charges should be filed against him. There are some idiotic statements there.

I agree with some of the other posters here.
The kids were NOT in harms way.
The bear did not need to be shot/killed. A shot in the air to scare it away---but it did not need to be shot and killed.
The opinions of some of you people are unbelievable.
I have always thought.....Anyone who can be heartless and without a conscience in regard to hurting animals for no reason, are just as capable of hurting kids and elderly people.
And, I would be saying the same thing no matter where I lived.
The bear, wolves, whatever they may be are hungry....Therefore, they go out to do what "ANY" living creature would do---they look for food. This is especially true of the moms with their babies.

I am quite saddened to call the rest of you humans,...humans are in fact animals, equal to a bear, equal to a dog, in fact dare i say it you people are even equal to....... that's right the evil liberals(sarcasm included). Face it this man killed an individual of a THREATENED species that was not even in striking range, I am in fact in favor of reducing the excess population on this planet (through birth control for aid in the third world), there are 6 BILLION humans that is an astounding number, the role of the human is NOT to rule the world with 'god' as your guide, in fact the role of man is to show that you are actually superior to other animals by preserving the other species of this planet. I know that I am ahead of my time but eventually these same ideas will be re-proposed, the life span of the human race is finite, why not leave the earth in the same state (or near to as possible) that it was found in? Well there is no point arguing with you people, you are clueless.
PS. I think the death penalty is a blight on the U.S. designed to kill minorities, as is all other destruction of life committed by people, including murdering dogs by the millions and tens of millions.
PPS. if you are unable to understand my argument, consider that humans shared the planet with a more advanced race, would you want them to exterminate you on site? or allow you to live peacefully?

OK, lesseeee.
It is OK for dude to "protect" his family...Quote: "Hopefully common sense will prevail. It's clearly an issue of protecting the family."
But NOT OK for the grizzly to protect HER family? Oh, silly me. It's the Grizzly's fault for looking for food. I forgot.
Too bad Grizzly's can't make the rules and have prosecutors on our planet! Wonder what the orphaned cubs would say about how mom was killed looking for food on dude's little property...

That's because animals are not capable of morality or immorality. And that's why humans, while lagging behind bunnies, are superior to bears and ptarmigans.

Ptarmigans are superior over bunnies and bears.

Lefties are idiots, they should be herded into fields and left to eat roots and grass for the rest of their lives.
My neighbor (an episcopal pastor, lefty, and former barack voter) has spent every summer for the last 42 years renting a cabin on a lake in central Canada. He has never had a problem with nature other then mosquitoes. This past summer he awoke in the middle of the night to a noise, when he stepped into the kitchen to investigate he came literally face-to-face with an adult black bear. The bear turned and ran out the damaged front door, he returned several times throughout the night. The next day (and for the remainder of the summer) he kept a borrowed loaded shotgun next to his bed.

Too many questions need to be answered. Because none of us were there, it is hard to tell what really happened. The article mentions a farm with pigs. Most people i know feed pigs left overs(slop) and that is probably what the bear smelled, especially on a hot day...
Were these children being properly supervised? Were the older kids taught not to advance a bear with her cubs? Did he shoot the bear in front of his kids???
Did the bear charge the kids? or was she foraging and the children were in the immediate area.
Was the father trigger happy? I do give him kudos for having called wildlife and report it.

Well, seriously, where else would they do it?

Sea my dear, one has the right to raise food animals for their use and not to feed others or wild life. We humans do come first before wild animals or hungry neighbors. One does not have to excuse a fox for getting into the hen house. ::)
Were the children properly supervised----- Good question in to days world, should have been an adult supervising every thing they did and make sure the kids never had to make decisions on their own. Class 101 how to cripple a future adult.
Did the father shoot the bear in front of his kids. NO, he had them all turn around, place their hands on their ears and covered the dead bear with a tarp so the kids would not see the carnage. ::)
Who gives a rats ass when a mother bear and cubs wander into your yard, they are not there to sell Avon, they are there to eat, anything, they are carnivores you know, sweet little Susie is on a swing set one moment and gone the next.
Mother bear is teaching her baby's how to survive, and at the same time teaching them how to protect their cubs in the future.
Was the father trigger happy, had these been pit bulls running loose in your back yard with a couple of kids on a swing set, do you calmly watch to see if the dogs go for the kids or do you shoot first.??
These were BEARS in the area of children, throwing M&M candy at them will not stop them.
Bears are the only natural enemy to man, they can back track a hiker that is pray, run faster then a horse and are the reason the American Indian made him into a demigod. Bears have been known to go after Kayakers they swim faster then one can paddle.
Sea, I am terrified of bears, I can perhaps reason with a mugger and get away alive, but bears are total killing machines when they are hungry and come out of the woods to find food in an area that people live in.
Mistake the parent made was calling in the police, he could have skinned the bear rolled the pelt in ashes, buried the sucker-----18 months later a nice bear rug.

Says the pro-choice buffoon.

Splitting hairs on approximate location of the bear in relation to the kids, and whether or not the bear was in attack mode and/or in the process of protecting her cubs is the kind of Monday morning quarterbacking that real people with real issues absolutely loathe.
This case should never have gotten beyond the cops.
Instead, the good people of Idaho have to pay untold thousands of dollars to placate the tree huggers and bear lovers in an effort to bring a bear "murderer" to justice :whatever:.
I'd much rather see a dead bear or two than dead kids.
It's too bad the idiots ranting about shit they weren't involved with and had no control over can't see that.
