A dead tree tore a hole in a boat when bat was having it chopped down months ago, and now it's WAR:

My neighbor just went from good friend to seething enemy in a matter of minutes.
I've lived in my home for four years now, and this is the first house I've ever owned. My neighbor and his wife barely scrape by, and they are tea party types, but that has never gotten in the way of us being really good friends over the years. I tend to ignore the simpleton qualities about them, the right-wing FOX news, kool-aid swilling, reliance on mis-information that plagues so many of our below average intelligence citizenry.

So recently I had a group of trees succumb to Emerald Ash Borer and die. The electric company came through about 4 months ago and cut limbs from the power lines that run in the back of my yard, and in doing so, they allegedly dropped a limb from one of the trees on my neighbors property and tore a hole in his boat cover. For four months now, all I've heard is "Boat Cover this" and "Boat cover that"! "Those assholes owe me a thousand dollars!", he puffs up and blusters. I quietly nod my head, not necessarily in agreement, but more that I understand he feels that he has been wronged, and I try to steer the conversation to calmer subjects. Now I wouldn't call myself an appraisal expert, but I place the value of this 10 year old, canvass, weather-beaten boat cover at about $100.00 on a suckers dime. But in true red-neck form, my neighbor is always looking to sue someone, or get something for nothing. He has threatened other neighbors for waking him up after midnight, or driving too fast past his house. Nothing better to do than to spend his job-less time bitching about the world around him. Knowing full well that he's begun a Jihad against the tree company, I asked him to leave the guys alone when they came out to cut the trees down on my property. Because one of the trees had limbs that jutted across the fence over the property line, I was concerned that he would take issue with them setting foot on his property, and in true Swami E Bat fashion, I was right.

I came home in the afternoon to find the tree cutting people standing in the backyard, not knowing quite how to proceed. They informed me that they didn't think they could cut the tree at the corner of the lot because the neighbor had been outside threatening them before I even got home. Suddenly my neighbor is standing at the fence wanting to talk to me. As I turned around to face him I no longer saw a man that had been a friend, but a pathetic, petty, belligerent, moron of a man. And at that second, I couldn't stand him. Suddenly he became the epitome of the type of person that fills me with contempt at the seemingly bottomless depths of their stupidity. I walked over to him and unloaded. As I explained to him, that "The ****ing tree is coming down whether he likes it or not, even if I have to dynamite it at the roots", and that "I'd heard enough about his ****ing boat cover to fill a library, and I was sick of hearing about it", the color ran away from his face. He began trying to yammer something about law suits, or some other bullshit. I realized that no one ever stands up to this asshole. He didn't know what to do. I had the police speak with him the following morning when the guys came out for day two, and that REALLY set him over the edge.

So, the short of it is, I now have a hostile neighbor. He's been glaring over at me when I'm out in the yard, mumbling shit under his breath. This has strained our relationship with his wife, (who is a clam, sane, intelligent woman). We really like her. The trees got cut and he has nothing more to bitch about now. I was getting hourly FB messages cussing me out and threatening me, so I simply blocked him. I feel like selling my house and moving to somewhere that your nearest neighbor is a mile away. Standing up for myself has made me sick. I think a privacy fence is in order...

When DUmmie uses words like, "simpleton", "moron", and "redneck" when he's FRIENDLY with the neighbor, well....

Well, Dumbass, your'e probably right, but then it's not your money.

OTOH, if it was custom fitted, the replacement costs might be much higher than $100.  I did notice that the DUmmie didn't offer even the $100 dollars that he thought it was worth.

Bouncy.

Neighbor "barely scrapes by" but has a boat.  Electric company cuts limbs but he has issues with tree companies.  Tree companies have ways of cutting trees that hang over onto other properties without having to enter the other property (what moonbat, you believe that's the only time something like that has ever occured and tree trimmers don't know how to handle it?).  And with the writing of "Standing up for myself has made me sick," Ms. tough guy super intelligence just let on he's a weenie and it was  all made up.

Oh DUmmie - you are officially my new hero - where upon this earth layeth your alter such that I can offer up a sacrifice to your greatness.

Every time I read one of these folks bragging about how tough, brave, intellectually gifted etc. they are and how "fundie tea-baggers" cower in the mere presence of their greatness - I picture some skinny little drug-****ed hippy type, who in reality can do nothing but rage impotently behind the safety of their keyboard.

This reminds me of something that happened in the winter of 1974. My blood pressure still goes up when I remember it.

I was clearing lots in a housing development. Lady next door came out and stopped me from working, asking questions. She tells me if so much as a leaf falls in her yard, she's going to sue me. Then she asks about this particular tree and I told her I was going to have to take it down....oh, she went ballistic, threatened to sue, call the building inspector, etc.. The tree shaded her kitchen window in late afternoon and if she lost that shade she would sue. Nothing a building inspector could do back then because we didn't have one and there were no codes etc.. Well, I called the developer I was working for and he came out where I was working. We discussed the situation and I told him the tree had to go to make room for the house ...AND...get this...she was already using a few feet of his lot. The property iron would have been a few feet over in her drive if it existed. He tried to reason with the woman but she would have none of it. Her husband was big shot from up north that had just moved in here to run some fancy/pancy company yak, yak, yak. He told me to stop work and come back in the morning.

Next morning bright and early my man was there with a surveyor, a lawyer and the real estate man that sold him the lots. He tried to reason with the woman one more time. Offered to sell her a few feet of the lot at a reasonable price and change his house plans some. She was worse than ever, didn't need to buy any property, called her husband to come home and tell these bumpkins what is what. By the time husband got there things were heated. The property line had been established and the reasonable man I was working for was not being reasonable any more. The property iron was 3 feet over into their drive and their new addition to the house was also on his property. He told me to get on my bulldozer and get their "trash" off his lot.... :lmao:

Long story short....that 10 feet or so of property cost the hell out of them because they were so unreasonable. I've been caught up in some heated situations before then and since then but that one was about the worst.

I'll add some advise in addition to what my good neighbor South of me just implied.  When you purchase property, even if it's a recorded plat at the courthouse, always get your own survey.  As a mortgage lender, I can't count the number of times complicated problems could have been easily avoided had the buyer spent and extra $300 and had a surveyor shoot the lines again.

Wife worked 22 years for a lawyer and now works for a bank doing mortgages. They won't close a loan until they have a survey done.

Once again, I feel strongly that the roles were reversed in this bouncy to make the DUchebag look good.

A redneck doesn't say he is going to sue. He says he is going to beat the crap out of you.  Now a moonbat....

Everything in that fable shows a role reversal.

Naw... us rednecks get even a different way. Like setting up a saw horse right outside said moonbats window at 6am on a Sunday morning and cutting up a whole lot of wood with a power saw... preferably a chainsaw. I've noticed something over the years... people don't piss you off when you have a chainsaw in your hand.

Dad always used this big electric planer he had. Damn that thing was loud. Wood lasted longer too.   :-) :-) :-)

I have a selection of toys for this purpose.

The lawnmower or edge trimmer for small offences, the chainsaw or table plane and 12" wide hardwood planks for more serious transgressions.

I know!  It's very instructive!  'Course, with me living in an apartment building, it's a tad tougher . . . but that small 800-Watt electric generator I have could be used to "interesting" ends . . . :naughty:

I have a couple neighbors that have used this method of expressing themselves...not so much fun for those of us that get along with everyone!

We recently built a shed in our back yard, and during construction, one of the walls we built was partly on my neighbor's property for a day or so.  He retaliated by parking his big mower so close to one corner of our house that we had to walk on his property to go around the house.   :-)  When we got the wall up, he moved his mower.  All in all, it was kind of funny...but we were careful not to cross that line again.  The entire "dispute" was settled without one word, and with no hard feelings on either side.  :lmao:

Well, the DUmmies bouncy is just that - a lie.   As a redneck or hillbilly I can say that I don't threaten to sue.  If a lawsuit is called for I just do it, without threats, without notification, but as the very last resort.  I hate to pay lawyers if I don't need to.  In my experience it's always been moonbats uttering the first "I'm gonna sue!" in disagreements.

But this thread reminds me of the huge drama we're involved in with the POA here.  I've just gotten my blood pressure up by thinking about it!

Drama did you say, wow, clue us in who know nothing about this.

For some odd reason my mind goes back to old defunct forum and this Man called CUJO.

He made sure we all knew he was a big fish in a small pool.    Had some status at the top of the Boston MTA. Even sent us links to local TV stations he appeared on tooting his own horn.

Now this man had a running fuse with his neighbor that involved tree limbs in his yard.--------He just said limbs so instant visual of human arms and legs all over his yard.     He also carped about CRIME in his neighborhood, he lived in NH in a sea side town that swells 1,000 % in the summer time.

Oh how he hated the senior citizen living next door, the old fart would take his leaf blower and send all leaves onto his property, His very old trees on the border line of the property were loosing Limbs onto his property and the old man refused to have them cut down.

So funny, CUJO and an old man at war.

Is this what qualifies as a "bouncy?"  Because I don't believe a word of that crap.   When someone comes online and brags about how they told off their neighbors and whatnot, it's crap.

The more I think about it, this is an epic fail bouncy. Here the DUmmy has an opportunity for cops and bushes. But does the DUmmy use them? Nope. FAIL.
