How does high school produce dumbed-down people? Easy: Republican censorship of textbooks
By doing this, they guarantee populations of truly ignorant people that will vote Repuke all the way. These people vote in ways that jeopardize even their own health. This has been going on since Reagan.
'AUSTIN, Tex. — After three days of turbulent meetings, the Texas Board of Education on Friday approved a social studies curriculum that will put a conservative stamp on history and economics textbooks, stressing the superiority of American capitalism, questioning the Founding Fathers’ commitment to a purely secular government and presenting Republican political philosophies in a more positive light....'

The Gablers of Texas, strengthened the Repuke strangelhold on history textbook censorship.

From now on her talking point will be that us repukes jeopardize our health, by not voting for the democrats.

I thought the dumbing down started with the creation of the Department of Education and continued through replacing civics and economics with Condom Use 101.

I know maybe 20-22 teachers and not a single one is a conservative. In fact, most could be posters on the DUmp.

I thought it was when libs starting re-writing history and successfully lobbying for self esteem classes.
Has anyone else seen a science book lately? You barely have to be able to read and there is minimal content. Look at a section on climate change for hyperbole stated as fact. Read the descriptions beneath photos and graphs of social studies and history books for liberal bias.

I thought it was when they started passing every child to meet the No Child Left Behind regs...instead of actually teaching.

Oh, trust me. Social promotion has been around LONG before NCLB.

The dumbing down of America began when the libs threw common sense under the bus and replaced it with political correctness when no one was looking.

I'm concerned that if we stop teaching Darwinism children will grow-up without realizing that liberals are unfit for survival.

That's nothing new...my kids were taught that styrofoam was killing the earth, and I was taught that we were all gonna freeze to death by...wow, about 11 years ago!!

Putting different subject matter or theories...or the truth doesn't dumb down students...teaching to the lowest common denominator does.

Separation of School and State (http://www.schoolandstate.org)
Anyway, as a poster said above... this all started with the creation of the Department of Education and Federally controlled schooling. The website I linked to goes a little farther than I would although I know where they are coming from. I would just like to see the federal government out of the business. Let each state control its on school system. If you did this it wouldn't be but a matter of time and you would see such a difference in education and production from the Red states vs the Blue states.
