Title: My cat is a weirdo
Post by: mamacags on April 26, 2008, 10:37:21 PM
The two cats and the dog all share the same water dish.  It is a large one.  Right beside the water dish is the dog's food bowl.  Every night when I fill up the food bowl the cat comes running.  He gets a drink of water and then spends several minutes trying to bury the dog's food.  I guess it smells like kitty doodoo to him.  He just scratches and scratches, turns around and sniffs and then scratches some more. :mental:  I guess the weirdest part is that the dog loves nothing more than fresh kitty doodoo out of the litter box for dinner.  Maybe my dog is a weirdo too then?

When my mom puts out the dogs' dinner, they go through the same thing every single day.  They each have seperate bowls which is what makes this even funnier... they growl and bark at each other and gaurd their food before they actually eat.  They do share a water bowl, but they don't seem to mind that.

Look into the eyes of the two species.  Tell me what you see.

Not at all.  We had a dog that loved "kitty treats" as well -  apparently this is normal. Discourage it, however, as it's not healthy for your dog not to mention if it eats too much of the litter itself.

It's a normal thing for cats to do that.  In the wild cats try to hide their leftovers so no one else will eat it.

Both my cats do it too.
