1000 moonbats gave up a bag of Cheetos for $kimmer.  :rotf:

Anybody ever notice that just by coincidence the fund drives reach their goal on Sunday nights?

All the time, exactly one week after start-up.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

I'm sure it just happens to work out that way. It gives them a week to figure out whether they can donate $5 and forgo a bag of cheetos or not.

But it's most peculiar, although I admit it could be a coincidence.

The goal's never reached early, like on a Friday, and it's never extended, like to the next Tuesday.

The goal's reached Sunday night, every time.

You know, someone wins the Powerball lottery every so often, and so I guess such a coincidence can happen.

Skimmer gets all their donations, plus other "star" purchases, plus the advertising income, plus the subsidy from the DLC.
He pays a pittance to Lord Marblehead and the enigmatic, elusive Elad, since they're otherwise unemployable.

The most hilarious posts about DUmp finances are the repeated questions from DUmbasses asking Skimmer to open his books.
It's like they think it's all a big democratic community, and they're equal partners with Skimmer.

Maybe they should for a union and force $kimmer to sit down with them and negotiate. :yourpoint:

I'm in a minority here, but actually I don't think my fellow alum skims enough from the primitives.

Every five bucks a primitive gives to Skins, is five less bucks some drug dealer's going to get.

Why don't they say the amount they get instead of the number of donations?

Oh, I agree. Anything that pushes the DUmbasses into more abject poverty is all good.

The only thing that is a little irritating is knowing that most of those stupid stars were bought with dollars
taken from productive citizens and given to a DUmp democrat, thinking they would help feed some poor democrat kid.

Wait, is it $1,000 or 1000 donations.

Wait, is it $1,000 or 1000 donations.

One thousand donations, each donation of which could be anything from a cent to a hundred bucks, although one doesn't suppose there's many, if any, of the latter.

As our colleague miskie pointed out last night, one thousand donors is something like 0.56% of the primitives.

(I think that was the number--and to lurking primitives who don't know mathematics, that's a little bit more than one-half of one percent, NOT 56 percent.)

My fellow alum's never given dollar totals, but of course he's not obligated to; and besides, the primitives being the way they are, might think he's getting "too much" and so might not give.

I on the other hand always hope Skins milks the primitives to the hilt.

The remainder were bought by Calpig, and gifted to moles.  :-)

It is curious that they reach their goal on Sunday nights. My thinking is that maybe they reach the goal of 1K earlier, but the cash total that Skammer wants to achieve isn't reached with those 1000 donations, so he sandbags the total and keeps GrovelBot going.

The DUmmies need a thread titled:  "Kick and Rec This thread if you donated this time" .

Oh, there's probably padding going on; I've seen it everywhere else.

If Skins hits a thousand by Thursday, he's not going to say, "Okay, we're done."

He's going to run it on until Sunday, hoping to garner in twelve or thirteen hundred; gravy.

Notice, it's just like that "1,000+ posts" thing there; it stops at a thousand, but one reasonably expects it's really more than a thousand.

They pay good money to come in and be told to follow 50,000 rules or be banished into the wilderness, by high-handed moderators who lock your thread if there's too much fun going on.

It's like Saturday, my husband asked me if I wanted to go to Wescott's beach, a NY state park on Lake Ontario.  I declined, saying "why would I pay $8 to go to a place instituted with thousands of rules, to be hollered at by nazi lifeguards, with them constantly blowing on their irritatingly shrill whistles?"  It's just like the DUmp.  I'd rather turn the garden hose on myself and open up a cold beer.

Indeed; and between listing a large dollar amount (With all the negative reaction that might draw, as several have noted) or listing a number that demonstrates just how many, many DUers love $kammer in the way that counts the most despite their own oft-recited tales of financial woe, the choice is obvious.

A drive based on money alone would be like Kruschev throwing a May Day parade with only the Red Army marching in review, but no populace turning out to cheer them...a show of power but not of popular support.

If I recall correctly, one of the more recent quarterly fund drives did NOT reach the 1,000 mark during the seven day period.  I distinctly recall $kimmer extending it into Monday or Tuesday.  Or maybe that was just a dream.
