Obama says will be judged in 2012 over economy
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/08/21/us-usa-obama-...
(Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Sunday he expects to be judged in the 2012 election over his governance of the American economy, which he said was still not growing fast enough.
"For me to argue, look, we've actually made the right decisions, things would have been much worse has we not made those decisions -- that's not that satisfying if you don't have a job right now," Obama told CBS in an interview taped last week and aired during his annual vacation in Martha's Vineyard, an island near Boston.
"I understand that and I expect to be judged a year from now on whether or not things have continued to get better," he said.
The unemployment rate has been stuck above 9 percent and growth was very weak in the first half of 2011, causing many Americans to question whether Obama's stimulus and bailout measures following the financial crisis worked.

Looks like his slogan for 2012 will be, Hey things could always be worse.

7. The stimulus and bailout measures did 'work' after a fashion, although
the stimulus package was too small by a magnitude of two to three times. However, the economy needs more stimulus from government spending right now, not less (in the form of budget cuts, entitlement reforms or austerity programs).
Should he fail to make the case for more government intervention via higher spending and pump priming, a harsh judgment awaits Obama, imho.
Things have not continued to get better.
Words fail me.

Not me, I have been hearing that crap for months now from lefties, who say the stimulus was just too small.

Well, I could understand it if we had a good reason. An alien invasion, for example.

Just imagine if aliens blew up several corporate headquarters, we would add a whole bunch more people to the unemployment rolls and jobs would be created like crazy.

If anyone is complaining about the size of Obie's package it should be Moochelle. Next we'll hear he ain't got rhythm either.

I've lost track of how many times their utopian broken window fallacy dreams have been debunked, but, they still cling to that fantasy. I'd hate to live that way, waiting for someone else to fix what ails me.

Maybe this is why no one is going to primary Obama. There is no way to overcome the economy.

Maybe the Obamessiah is going through a primary, and his opponent is the economy.
He'll lose.

"For me to argue, look, we've actually made the right decisions, things would have been much worse has we not made those decisions..."
To make that argue would violate several logical fallicies. There's no way to prove it would have been worse. The only way to prove it would be to create an alternate universe, not do anything or, better yet, implement other decisions that were being suggested by conservatives, and then compare the results. Since it can't be done, then to claim things would have been worse is just that; an empty claim.

Yep, the bankers and the unions needed even more money to do nothing with.
