... as she taught me to share and to help those less fortunate than myself.

Ironically, SHE called it "The Christian Way".

I'm leaning more and more towards this, too.

I was taught to share as well, only I was taught to share what was mine, not to try to share something that is not mine.
I was also taught that if someone has something, it belongs to them. If I don't have the same thing, it's not some tragedy that the govt must come in and fix, I have 2 options figure out how to get what they have by earning it, or live without it.

1. Good Plan.

We can no longer afford capitalism, if we ever could. It's become a very corrupt system.

If you think we can't afford capitalism  just wait until you see what socialism will cost you.

33. And socialism fails when you run out of other peoples money.

Eventually the non-producers out-number the producers.
Why work hard if outcome is always equal?
What works in kindergarten doesn't translate to the real world.

Lousy freeper troll.

6. It is so nice to see you back!!

And in GD no less! And I absolutely agree. Jesus was a socialist, not a capitalist.
Duckie

I can't recall one single time where Jesus took anything by force from anyone to give to the poor. I can think of multiple times where he told people to share what they have with the poor, willingly though.

He who does not work, neither shall he eat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/He_who_does_not_work,_neither_shall_he_eat)

I suspect they will not be all that happy with the work for food thing.  No free lunch money gang.  And btw, how many kids did starve on summer vacay??

As broke as we were when I was a kid we always gave to those who were poorer than we.  I can hear my mother's voice to this day as she quoted this Indian proverb:

“I had no shoes and complained, until I met a man who had no feet.”

I find it fascinating that DUmmies are blind to the socialist meltdown in Europe.

In accordance with Lenin’s understanding of the socialist state, article twelve of the 1936 Soviet Constitution states:

In the USSR work is a duty and a matter of honor for every able-bodied citizen, in accordance with the principle: “He who does not work, neither shall he eat.”

Wow.

The socialists called work a "matter of honor."

One wonders if the primitives know that.

You can bet if they did, they wouldn't be so keen on having socialism here.
Notice the socialists said nothing about living wages, union rights, benefits, smoke breaks, 200 days a year vacation time, and other assorted goodies they expect for flipping burgers at the local BK.

Well, remember now, the socialists who said that were saying it to the proletariat, of which they were not a part.

The ignorant DUmmies think that in a socialist regime, they would be apparatchiks, with dachas in Vermont and upstate New York.

Not one of them thinks he'd be a prole, being worked to death and subsisting on boiled cabbage and cheap vodka.

Lots of 'em are already there.  Spoiled the he77 out of some nice areas too.  Come the revolution many of them will be first to the guillotine. There is no honor among thieves nor socialists.

I could never figure out why Vermonters and southerners don't seem to get very upset over the invasion of these emigrants from their own places; such as the bitter old Vermontese cali primitive leaving Connecticut, Oscar Wilde the large-proboscised primitive deserting Staten Island for Florida, the Bostonian Drunkard's mother fleeing Massachusetts for New Hampshire, for examples.

After all, they spent years, probably decades, voting to increase taxes, cultivate corruption, and foster welfareism in their native parts.....and then they flee to places where taxes aren't so high, where corruption is non-existent, and where people are proud of working for a living.

I think people should stay in the nests they've fouled, or in the beds they've made.

It depends who and which southerners.  Floridians actually break into three or four distinct groups, for example.  Those of us that grew up and lived more than about twenty miles from the shore are mostly old fashioned common sense, live and let live sort, with a good dose of christian charity normal southerners, yankees aren't even really tolerated.  The second group is native Floridians who live and work near the beach, they are more than happy to take the yankees money and smile at them, but yankees are oblivious to the fact these never ever mix with them.  The third group is family immigrants that live near the shore, they aren't picjy about whose money they take.

Lastly, there are the yankees.  They think any Floridian not living on the shore is a stupid hick that doesn't know what is good for them.  Of course, they also try to build on ballast fill because "it's shoreline" and then complain when no one else will allow it to be built or insured.  They vote for higher taxes and then complain when the county counsel sticks them with higher taxes, and then want locals to help them rebuild the beach that natural erosion and their construction destroyed.  They also have been trying to make large stretches of beach private, in violation of local law and custom.

Oh man.

If that doesn't sound like Oscar Wilde, the large-proboscised primitive, the emigrant from Staten Island.

I was born in Florida and grew up closer to Alabama than the beach.  Living amongst  Maryland yankees makes me wish I was back in my part of Florida daily.

New London Conn.---------Nice little town the people were mostly living on 6 generation property, paying their taxes and obeying the law. Proud of their heritage and most had served as their family had done in the Armed Forces in one war or another.

Quiet little town, church goers that were attending the same church their grandparents supported., School activities were well attended by the kids parents.

People took pride in their homes especially if they were inherited from family.  Not much crime as the kids all had family in the area and had fear of family rejection were they arrested.

Yankee life at its best, strong and proud people that honered their Country and gave thanks to the parents that made life possible for them and their kids.

Now comes the EVIL into a small town, Steven King could not write  a story about EVIL as bad as this.

Shit, Say Sparky can you chime in here, you know what happend next.
