Words matter...
over the last few we have seen attacks on the "far left." Problem is that there is no way to define the "far left." You mean marxists? Show me an organized marxist party in the US... Socialists? Same thing (And that one you got a better chance in a few states) Wait, liberal democrats... excuse me while I ask for a definition... and liberalism has changed in what it means from the 19th century to now.
Oh labor... and unions... problem is that trade unionism is quite conservative in the US... and far left not really. That split really happened over 100 years ago at Haymarket. You see the Anarcho Unionists have really lost that fight to the trade unionism in the US.
So exactly what is it that people think as far left? Those who oppose Obama? That places you into a very nice wide spectrum... and it includes the very well organized FAR RIGHT.
Words matter... and it is not individuals... it is the country. Basic terms such as fascism and socialism are used interchangeably (by both sides mind you) and they are like water and oil. This is one of the reasons we really not speaking the same language, and why some of us who do know the meaning do this often.
:banghead:
This country needs a real sit in on words and what they mean and political systems... we really do.
For the record, I do hope the current economic conditions will lead to the rise of an organized left... not a far left, I'll be happy with an organized left.
Your rants are like water and oil. My head can't mix what you're saying.

I've got a feeling that there's a lot her head can't mix.

10. It is not what I believe, it is the political reality in the US of 2011
prove me wrong.. show me a well organized left... please do.
Realize I have seen REAL commies... and socialists... MY PERSONAL BELIEVES align closely to those of a SOCIAL DEMOCRAT... but there is no organized left in the US. There hasn't been for forty years. The last hurrah probably was the 1960s.
The Red Scare had a lot to do with that by the way... and the black lists that prevented many well known lefty organizers from working and making a living.
This is history... and the far right... it started to organize in a hard core way in it's modern from after the 1964 debacle... again history.

12. Ok look at organizations
tell me what passes for the left these days... moveon? We really do not have the organization, or the bottom up way of influencing politics as the far right does.
They have built a parallel set of organizations over the last forty years They range from Fox Nooz, to Focus on the Family, to yes, the Tea party. There is simply no equivalent.
This is history... I didn't make this up. And yes, you can have an organized extreme, in this case the far right, and a highly dysfunctional and disorganized whatever passes for left. There is more, people do not really know what left is in this country.
There have been OTHER countries where this has happened, and that gives me all but a warm fuzzy as well. (Germany and Italy)

15. My college was a little more conservative
the last far lar leftist I ever met was the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party in... MEXICO CITY.
Otherwise, I have yet to meet a far lefty in the US... oh correct that... I met one, after 9.11... problem is this kid started singing the joys of marx and all that, and I was naughty and asked him the same questions I ask here. He hit the bullet points, but did not understand the bullet points. Sadly I ended up recommending a few books, if he was serious.
The far left is taking up residence in the White House. It is also the base of the party. I don't think you can get more organized than that misfit.

Wouldn't MSNBC be considered a well organized left? Maybe not "well" organized, but organized.

Words matter to nads ?
More like 'word matter'... as in "Nadin murdered the English language today. One witness reported that Nadin's screed left word matter and fragmented sentences sprayed across the walls and floors."
-
The left has the coffee party... :rotf:
-
Of course they don`t want words to matter and wish for a vast undefined swamp in which they can undo the foundations of this country.
Sorry nads but words do have definite meanings and is why you leftist bastards lose every time you are honest about your intents.

One things for certain; the primitives are the last individuals that are in a position to determine what is and isn't "the far left" seeing that they're so far left they think the left is the right.

Words matter? To know-it-all nadin? The word butcher of the DUmp?
Nutcase nadin has miles to go before her vocabulary matches that of Ricky Ricardo.
That's why she's sitting up the election. That is why she invariably takes time to ready a book.
She warned of radiation from "Fiuki".
And that's why she lectured her little flock of DUmbasses on parenteral poisoning until they discovered she didn't know the meaning of "parenteral".
That word mattered. It caused her to tell the DUmbasses to go to hell, delete her DUmp cookies, and join the arrogant smug snots at Crazy Andrea's place.
Her exile from the DUmp lasted less than a week, so I guess the word didn't matter all that much.
