I think I've figured out why the non-wealthy would support teabagger policies/goals.
If you talk to 'baggers, you'll notice something about them right away: they like to have someone to blame for society's ills, and it usually involves groups of people getting something the 'baggers don't feel those people deserve.
When you couple this with the religious sensibilities of most 'baggers, the picture comes into focus even more.
Teabaggers want to punish people for "immorality". This is refelected in their desire to dismantle the safety nets, because in 'baggers minds, the poor have some moral deficiency (laziness, greed, different skin color or ethnicity - YES, that last IS a moral issue in their twisted "minds") which makes them poor. Similarly, their stand on abortion and choice is far less about actual life (they'd be anti-war and anti-death penalty if it were really about life), than it is about the desire to punish a sexually "immoral" woman.
You can go issue by issue, and it's all about the desire to punish "wrongdoers".

Wrong again DUmmy.

Sounds like you goons describing the rich. You blame them for everything under the sun, and you have the nerve to call them leeches, when they are the ones producing something.

No, we think that those who can work, have a responsibility to take care of themselves and not sit on the couch waiting for that next check from Uncle Sam.
I'm not even going to bother to address the skin color and ethnicity claim since it is such bullshit.
Similarly, their stand on abortion and choice is far less about actual life (they'd be anti-war and anti-death penalty if it were really about life), than it is about the desire to punish a sexually "immoral" woman.
Yeah it has nothing to do with an innocent baby being killed, we just wanna put women in their place. :whatever:
What I can't figure out, is why capital punishment for the unborn is cheered by DUmmies, yet the same DUmmies cry themselves to sleep when a sick twisted murderer receives justice. This goon also thinks we like war, we more than anyone know the price that war brings, since a lot of us served at one time or another, we also realize that when someone wants us all dead we have no choice, but to kill them first.
You can go issue by issue, and it's all about the desire to punish "wrongdoers".
You can go issue by issue of what the left believes in, and it is all about punishment, punish the rich by taking their money, punish the working class, and I don't mean unions I mean decent hard working folks, by making them have to work harder so you can get your freebies, and generally just looting whatever you can from any productive person then have the gall to say they steal from you.

1. The reason right wingers support the rich
is because they truly believe they will one day be rich and they treat them the way they want to be treated when they are rich.
Nope, I will probably never be rich, but I believe in freedom, so if someone has more than I do, I don't feel that they owe me something.

3. If this were the 1930s, they would be blaming the Jews. nt
We leave that up to Screwy Louie Farakahn, Al Sharpton, and so forth.

12. It's simpler than that. They do what the teevee tells them. They believe what the teevee tells them.
They don't know how to think.
My tee vee never tells me to do anything, I must be watching the wrong channels on the rare occasion I am watching the tee vee.

18. yeah maybe but to me it's obvious that it's all about racism
the immorality bit comes in because they think "those kind" are more immoral than "our kind"
when their son gets on drugs, it's a terrible tragedy and a genetic mix-up and god's way of bringing them to the church...when the black woman's child gets on drugs, it's proof somehow that "they" are inferior
i've seen it too often over the decades, you are not going to convince me there is anything good or moral about these racist pigs, sorry
they will say "praise god" as they rip you off and rob you blind, since they are forgiven, they figure that they don't have to follow the same rules of honesty as the rest of us
:mental: :mental: :mental:
They haven't the slightest clue what any of us actually believes in.

I think I've figured out why...
Every time a DUmmy post starts with those words, you know the end result will be so disconnected from reality and common sense that you wonder what recreational drugs it takes to achieve that state of mind.

Exactly. It is the left wing that fights anything that will improve the lives of the poor.
They cannot stand it when black inner city parents are given the choice to take their kids out of failing government schools. The kids might learn something and might just find that they don't need the entitlement state (read: Democrat party) to take care of them.
They bitch about supposed right wing racism, but it is the Democrat party that has devastated blacks with the three "S's": slavery, segregation and socialism. It's high time that they own their racism.

I grew up on a dirt farm and lived in poverty, hated it.
I like to be able to go out in public with my head held high knowing I pay my bills through the work I do.
You miserable pieces of crap will never grasp that and why you will always be nothing.

Anyone voting for Obummer for dog catcher is only doing what the teevee tells them. No sane, thinking person voted for Obama. None.
Some have become sane, or at least, started thinking since but Obama had no qualification to be elected POTUS except that he was over 45.

Actually "wrongdoers" end up punishing themselves. Newton's Laws and all that.
I'll tell you, their stereotypes are SO dated. These are the same things they said about "the establishment". Now they are the establishment and still haven't managed to grow up.

I didn't read this whole thread yet, but had to comment on this statement.

I spend my time (unfortunately) around a bunch of union members. All they do is bitch, moan and whine about how the managers are "holding them down" and being "mean" to them. They back talk to the managers from the moment I get into work until I leave for the day. I pulled a 12 hr shift yesterday and heard so much crap, it's not even funny. It disgusts me that people like that can be so disrespectful to others.
It's you union/liberals who blame your misfortunes on others. If you're poor, it's always the fault of someone else. It couldn't be because you made bad financial decisions.
The attitudes of my co-workers are toxic.

My goodness, it is so weird. I remember knowing this when I was under 35 but now that I am in my 40's the very idea of a 35 year old POTUS fills me with mortal terror.
Maybe it is age or maybe it is that I have seen Wild in the Streets 2 or 3 times.

It's not always bad financial decisions. We've probably been lower middle class most of our lives because we chose to be a one income family in a two income world. It comes back to personal choice. I doubt I'll ever say "gosh, I regret not working so we could have more stuff". But I know I'd regret it if I let someone else educate and take care of my sons. I feel very blessed because I don't know that I always have the mental stability for a full time job. With homeschooling we could make our own schedule so on days when I was flippin' nuts they could just do their own thing.
We didn't have much but we always had a roof over our head and never went hungry.

I went to a union meeting once. Just once.
I felt like I was taking a trip to the beach in a minivan with a bunch of pre-teen kids in the back. In fact, I think I would have liked the minivan trip better. I never heard so much whining, moaning, and bitching in my entire life. If you closed your eyes, you would believed you were in a room of 6 year olds with no toys to play with!
The best part of the meeting is it ended...and the free pizza and beer.

...when I was flippin' nuts...
I hear ya....nuts are pretty hard to flip, even with the right sized spatula.
That's why I stick to pancakes most of the time.
:-)
(To look at me, you'd say the pancakes stick to me...)

Right there is you problem DUchebag, thinking you are thinking.

The only thing this deep thinker figured out is how to regurgitate the same crap that has been posted on DU for years. How original. Is EVERYONE over there in jr high?

Right there is you problem DUchebag, thinking you are thinking.
The very fact that the DUchebag is thinking is the problem.

Only a DUmmy could truly believe that children are punishments, or that it's perfectly fine to punish an unborn child for the sins of the parents. :mental:
It seems quite obvious that the non-wealthy support the TEA party because we are smart enough to know that the route out of poverty is through jobs, and the current administration is doing everything humanly possible to stop our country from producing jobs in order to buy more Democratic votes with taxpayer dollars.
On the other hand, every single Democrat that's actually gotten pinned down on entitlements has ended up with the same position, "Well, I'm gonna get mine!!" With Democrats, it's all about "Me, Me, Me...what can I get from my country." Their selfish position on the economy and entitlement programs is literally destroying our country.

Spot on, MrsSmith.

But alas, madam, that's w-a-a-a-a-y too complicated for primitives to comprehend.
