Perry tries to scare americans: “A big black cloud†hangs over the country" Updated at 8:27 PM
Just minutes earlier, while delivering remarks at the Des Moines Register Soapbox here, Perry focused his fire on President Obama, who will be in a different part of the state later Monday.
“He says he’s on a listening tour,†Perry said, “so I’m going to talk to him.†… Perry warned that a “big black cloud†hangs over the country.
“I think you want a president who is passionate about America — that’s in love with America.â€

8. "big black cloud" is his not-so-subtle reference to the guy you called "sorry excuse of a President"
in another thread.
Another Ed fan.

30. Perry was referring to the national debt...not Obama
It was selective editing by NBC and Ed Shultz...

Schultz regrets Perry remark about 'big black cloud'
Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Monday says he sees a “big black cloud that hangs over America†– a remark that MSNBC host Ed Schultz quickly interpreted as being about President Barack Obama, which in turn prompted charges of race-baiting and deceptive editing by conservative blogs.
On Tuesday, Schultz addressed the criticism created by his incomplete quoting of Perry’s remarks in Iowa and said he regrets the error, but maintained that other controversial remarks this week by the Texas governor reveal his true nature.
“We did not present the full context of those statements and we should have,†Schultz said, then replaying the full Perry quote that made it clear the “big black cloud†Perry was referring to is the U.S. debt, and not President Obama, as Schultz maintained Monday. “No doubt about it, it was a mistake and we regret the error … we should not have included it in our coverage.â€

33. you don't see the imagery?
seriously?
His audience does, whether they realize it or not.
You must be a very honest and forthright person - and don't see how these villains play their prey for the fools that they are.
Hey genius black cloud hovering over something is an expression that has nothing to do with skin color, it has to do with cloud color.

37. That was my first impression when
I saw this thread. Looks like a racist Freudian slip to me. Then again, he might have wanted to say it. I think we're going to hear a lot of racist code from this guy.
:mental:

I was sure he was talking about Moose-Shalls recent weight gain.

As usual from the DUmmies:
:overreaction:

7. No, there's no racism to that statement at ALL.
No, there's not, you liberal scumbag. "Black cloud" has a meaning wholly apart from skin color. Leave it to the EXPERTS on racism - liberal democrats - to find racism where there is none.
Proof -
Big Black Cloud
1. Obama is not "big" by any stretch of the imagination.
2. Obama is half black.
3. Obama is not a feature of the atmosphere.
There. Proof that the statement was not referring to "President" Barack Hussein Ahmnottamuslim Obama.

Who are the racists?
-
You are kidding me, right ?
To recap: A liberal talking head edits something Perry says to change the context, libs buy it and use it as a talking point. Same liberal talking head then apologies for his actions, and the libs continue to use it as a talking point anyway, because they like the message.
Looks to me like another case of 'fake, but accurate'.
-
lol, it's hillarious...
Racist individuals (liberal democrats) lying about what someone else meant, then have to feign indignation over something they actually agree with, but was never meant from the beginning.
Further proof that honesty does not abide in liberal democrats.

Obama on December 1, 2009: (http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/remarks-president-address-nation-way-forward-afghanistan-and-pakistan)
We'll have to use diplomacy, because no one nation can meet the challenges of an interconnected world acting alone. I've spent this year renewing our alliances and forging new partnerships. And we have forged a new beginning between America and the Muslim world -- one that recognizes our mutual interest in breaking a cycle of conflict, and that promises a future in which those who kill innocents are isolated by those who stand up for peace and prosperity and human dignity.
And finally, we must draw on the strength of our values -- for the challenges that we face may have changed, but the things that we believe in must not. That's why we must promote our values by living them at home -- which is why I have prohibited torture and will close the prison at Guantanamo Bay. And we must make it clear to every man, woman and child around the world who lives under the dark cloud of tyranny that America will speak out on behalf of their human rights, and tend to the light of freedom and justice and opportunity and respect for the dignity of all peoples. That is who we are. That is the source, the moral source, of America’s authority.

A mole should post that at the DUmp. Would be quite the turd in the proverbial punch bowl.

Yeah, wot the Hell? If he was talking about Obama, he would've said "A skinny Black clod."

That was my first impression when I saw this thread. Looks like a racist Freudian slip to me because that viewpoint fits my predetermined political agenda. Then again, he might have wanted to say it because that viewpoint, also, fits my predetermined political agenda. I think we're going to hear a lot of racist code from this guy because that how we'll try to spin it because it fits our predetermined political agenda.
Fixed.

Well, if it was a white cloud is wouldn't be troubling, DU fools!
If racism is the ONLY thing these idiots have left, they are f'n toast. ...and that appears to be the case.
-
"A big black cloud" is not racist.
"A pair of big black ears" might be.
-
Oh noes! Rick Perry has a BLACK labrador, too. I'd bet money he already has the rope hanging from a tree.
Why is it YOU are the only ones that hear the dog whistles? :whistling: That is rhetorical, I know.

I heard on Rush today that Kraft is introducing bi-racial Oreos, which I thought they always were but there you go and there you are.
-
That was "trying to scare Americans?" What the hell was it when Obama said he wasn't sure if SS checks would go out?

MOON ROCKS, yup this reminds me of MOON ROCKS.
Before some of you were born I was in Honolulu 1972 reading the paper and came across an ad for-- Genuine imitation Moon Rocks for sale.
Many years later when the fad to own a Genuine Pet Rock took off, I wondered if these were the same people that sold the Genuine imitation Moon Rocks.
My point is that even reading the fine print, we overlook the disclosure claim to get what we want to believe is real.
