Major racial and/or historically lib constituencies in most of those named in the lead-in, except perhaps Delaware; that one is probably due to Biden.

Delaware is also one of the few states to completely buck the national rightward trend in 2010. The State Republican party is anemic, and it's a pretty hard-left leaning state.

Basically stated, were the election to be held today, he'd lose big. I see at least 10 states he won in 2008 where he's now down below 47 percent:
Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Florida, and Indiana, for starters. There are others in there, I'm sure.
And the fact that he's down to a paltry 53 percent even in uber liberal Commiefornia has to have the Obumbler campaign shitting bricks.

Disgusting! can't think of anything else to say to describe this.

It's not nearly as bad as you think--in fact, look at those results from 2008 again and compare them to his ratings today...see my above post.
http://www.uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/national.php
California: currently 53 percent approval--won it in 2008 by 61-37 margin.
Vermont: currently at 54 percent--won by 68-31 margin.
New Jersey: currently at 54 percent--won by 57-42 margin.
Illinois: currently 54 percent--won by 62-37 margin.
And there are a HUGE number of states where his approval is currently in the 48-50 percent range that he won VERY easily in 2008. If his approval stays under that, he's almost sure to lose it in 2012. I'm not going to make a call for the election 15 months out, but if current trends continue, he's going to be looking at barely keeping those 16 states, which add up to barely 150 EV.
