I'll never eat another Carl's Jr. hamburger (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x1711653)
I have to admit that I rarely eat burgers, maybe once a month if that. But I've occasionally enjoyed the Western Bacon Cheeseburger and onion rings, made by Carl's Jr. But no more.
Yesterday, I saw Andrew Puzder, CEO of CKE Restaurants, Carl's Jr.'s parent company on Fox being interviewed by Neil Cavuto. Puzder was openly criticizing Obama and the Democrats. He claimed that Obama had no plan to reduce the national debt. He blamed Obama for the credit rating downgrade. He was lamenting the fact that companies like his were being overburdened and discouraged by regulations being promoted by the big, bad Democrats in Congress. He was talking about the fact that he had just moved his company headquarters from California to Texas, a right-to-work state where the environment is more company-friendly. He openly critized Obama for promoting "Obamacare". He stated that corporations can regulate themselves and that big government gets in the way. However, out of the other side of his mouth, this poor harried businessman was proudly proclaiming a 34% increase in profits over the last year, despite all these terrible regulations and burdens he had to live with. I've never heard a CEO of a company so openly bash the President. I guess he thinks that he can say these things with impunity and that liberals will stupidly continue buying his burgers without a second thought. Needless to say, I know I will never set foot in the door of another Carl's Jr.

12. Bummer.
The kids they have working there are really nice and polite. Not that "I have to be nice", either. Genuinely friendly. And, they're the only fast food place in town where I've seen "obvious" Hispanics employed.
This is the problem with boycotts. The CEO is obviously a douche, but what about these kids and the two sweet middle-aged Mexican ladies that are so incredibly friendly that it makes eating crap more enjoyable? I doubt Mr. Puzder is going to give two shits about us boycotting Carl's Jr., but if I boycott it will directly affect people that don't deserve to be punished.
This is why I get headaches. I dunno. Gonna havta think on this a bit.
Interesting final post...so far.

Unbelievable. In complete seriousness, how low of an IQ do you really have to have to understand that running off businesses is bad for the economy, and that high taxes and high regulation run off businesses? It's really very simple.
I bet when those DUers shop, they find product X at three different stores and buy the cheapest one. Nothing wrong with that. I shop around. Nobody has a moral obligation to buy a product at the highest price. We didn't even have a legal obligation to do so until Obama passed the health care law.
Now, what they want is for companies (who are just a group of people) to be forced to go buy product X (i.e. labor) at the highest price? Stay in the Marxist Republic of California until they give all their money to the degenerates? Is that some kind of moral obligation that corporations have and liberals don't have? I mean the logic is below that of pre-schoolers.

I wonder how long the DUmp moonbats could survive if they only accepted food, products, or services from sources whose CEOs express confidence and support for the jug-eared muslim and his unicornian schemes.

26. ....I don't think you can change shithead CEOs by boycotts; they just respond with new marketing campaigns. The way to change them is with REAL socialists in office, politicians that would pass laws mandating unions for businesses with over a certain number of employees. Wouldn't that be like dry ice down their underwear?
This is what we're up against. And they call us fascists?
I don't know how this boycott is going to work. Most of them said OK, but piously stated that they never eat fast food. One lone voice said that the other side always rushes in with a buycott, so boycotts are useless. He was ignored. It's like the only play they have in their book, and it makes them feel so powerful. :loser:
Think I'll celebrate Wisconsin this weekend with a Johnsonville Brats cook-out, complete with Miller-Coors products, served on Koch Bros brand paper plates & towels! Sargento cheeseburgers too.

.

Another place that has the politest young adults working for them is Chick-Fil-A. Another fine establishment DU boycotts. Anyone see a pattern developing?
-
I'll try to be a little nice, but let's be honest here, there aren't enough of you to make a dent! you think there are more of you than there actually are. I'm a personal boycotter, there are some celebrities that are so way over the top, dumb and insulting, I refuse to enrich them by seeing their movies, am I going to make a difference? most likely not but that's fine. So I know that my personal boycott won't make a difference but for some reason your side has such inflated egos that you really do think you'll make a difference.

"However, out of the other side of his mouth, this poor harried businessman was proudly proclaiming a 34% increase in profits over the last year, despite all these terrible regulations and burdens he had to live with."
If Carl's made $1 in profit last year and increased his profits to $1.34 this year, wouldn't that be a 34% increase in profits?
Back in the 70's during the gas crisis of that day, the TV news media loved to tell us that EXXON's profits were up 300%...but they would never....never...show any figures or a bottom line figure of what EXXON had actually made one quarter vs the last. It wasn't that the reporters were such poor mathematicians that they didn't understand numbers and figures, it was they were afraid their viewing audience might understand them....and then they would be caught trying to pull the wool over everyones eyes. Fake but accurate ain't something new.

40. To be consistent, guess you won't be buying GE stuff either?
The top tax bracket for U.S. corporations stands at 35 percent, one of the highest rates in the world. So how is it possible that a giant of American business, General Electric, paid nothing in federal taxes last year, even as it made billions in profit?
-
Glenn Beck has moved to Texas, too. I guess the dummies can't see the writing on the wall. Texas is business-friendly, more and more people are moving here because of it, and the economy is flourishing. If a liberal ran the state, it'd turn into another California or New York.
Rick Perry must scare the he'll out of the primitives. He's not perfect but he's damn sure better than the socialist we have now.

Awesome. I love their burgers and now I don't have to worry about running into DUmmies while enjoying lunch. Besides they have hot chicks on their commercials.
-
Their new chicken tenders are pretty damn tasty, too. Better than what I've had in many other restaurants.

This poor mole isn't long for the DUmp. He posted so many obvious facts and then tried to hard to miss the point at the end. I don't think it's enough to save him.

This thread made me hungry for Hardee's. Suck it DUmmies.

You know I rarely eat fast food...that whole cramming 3 days of calories into one meal thing...but I had my husband stop on the way home. Had one of those burgers with the avocado on it.

Guess I'll be eating Carl's Jr for lunch on Saturday. Haven't had anything from there for over two months, guess it's time to cave. :)

There was a story a few months ago, California has so screwed businesses over that there will be no new Carl's in the state. It costs over a quarter of a million dollars more to open one in CA. They are building them by the dozen in Texas.

Their 500 calorie turkey burgers aren't too bad, either.

Ahem. Carl's has Criss Cut Fries, NOT curly fries.
-
At the end of the day, this was a business decision that has been politicized beyond recognition. He makes more money moving. Democrat business owners do the same thing, making them hypocrites.
Again, liberals have the #$@%ed up logic that corporations have an obligation to do business and hire people in the most expensive states, while these same mindless wonders search for the cheapest products they can find when they shop. By their logic, one should go to the most expensive place to buy every product that they purchase.
I swear, if liberals had brains they'd take them out and play with them.

Ours has curly fries still... at least they did two months ago or whenever I was there last. I'm going to be sad if they got rid of curly fries.

I'm going to be sad if they got rid of curly fries.
Eeww. The only thing worse than curly fries is tater tots. Waffle fries are microscopically better than curly fries.
French fries are supposed to be straight!
-
Chick-fil-A's waffle fries are awesome. Maybe it's the grease from the chicken.
-
Carl's Jr probably sees it as a win. Less ketchup and napkin stealing if the DUmmies boycott.

I think I will start eating at Hardee's more.
Thanks a million, DUmmy! :bird:
I got a BUNCH of coupons for "buy one, get one free" burgers and meals at Hardee's. Looks like I'll be eating out more this month.
I'm definitely going after the BOGO on their fried bologna biscuit!
-

I always ask for real french fries.

Just finished my first chick-fil-a from the newly opened Chicago location. YUM!

I didn't know they had another kind.
McDonald's tried to copy Chik-fil-A with their Southern Chicken Sandwich. It was passable. Chik-fil-A's nuggets are great.

Chik-Fil-A is run by a strong Christian management team. They aren't even open on Sundays. No suprise the DUmmies don't like them.
-
OMG! I want a Thickburger, Chicken Tenders, and some fried chicken now. With biscuts and gravy! I have had to cut back to the bone and haven't had any fast food in months. I drive by the Hardee's every day and just drool.

OK. Let's look at that.
There are, what, a dozen burger joints out there.
You might patronise them once a year.
Your stupid boycot costs them maybe two bucks.
Number of DUmmies that will do the same...three.
Number of CC'ers that will now make an effort to buy...dozens.
Nice move, Umbass.
Love the honey-mustard sauce

I know skul, they only hurt themselves. I've observed DUmmies go into full depression mode when they realize they have to give up the Spicy Chicken Sandwich at Chick Fil-A. They apparently love it very much. But, since it's run by Christians, we can't have that. Nope.
-
:argh: Now I really want a Chik-fil-a! :banghead:
-
I stopped at Carls Jr the other day and got an iced tea and they gave it to me for free. The guy said "it's hot.".
Those evil corporatists - giving something away for free just because. And he wasn't an obvious Hispanic, either.

Wendy's spicy chicken is excellent.
Plus, Wendy's has good, normal, straight French fries.

The fries at Wendy's are pretty good now. But if I get that french fry craving now I head out to 5 Guys. I think they sprinkle crack on theirs or something. Well that and they are actual potatoes. A large will cost you $5 but it is damned near a whole meal.
-
My 'fry' scale starts at McDonalds, then Wendys. Jack in the Box is in fourth place after Chik Fil A 's waffle fries. I don't care which direction they cut them in.

I tried Five Guys because I heard so many people talking about them. Won't go back. The fries are fine, but the stupid hamburger is so big, you can't bite it. Mine fell apart after one try, and I ended up eating it with a fork. A total mess, and it cost as much as a steak dinner at Outback.
-
I have not seen a Jack in the Box since I was 4 and no In and Out burgers here. McDonald's fries are good so long as you eat them right when you get them. Give them a chance to cool taking them home and meh. Indifferent to waffle fries. Arby's curly fires are good but can be a bit limp. LOVE Five Guys fries.

Yeah I was shocked when I saw the price of a bacon cheese burger there too. At least the people at the one I went to cooked it right. Pretty good burger but really not much better then a Hardee's.
