the economy is in the shits and wages are stagnant, price of goods are up.
this was the vets calling me, this time. i also get the police. i was saying, sorry, i don't have the money.
now, along with sorry, no money, i am adding about the repugs, no jobs, lower income with costs up. takes all of about 15 secs to say, and the person (male), generally doesn't like the part about repugs screwing us.
i felt good
sigh
The shift key is your friend, look into it.

I just read that.
Anyway. how often do the Police make unsolicited calls, asking for money? It's my understanding that it's a scam.

A democrat with no money. What a novelty.

He needs to team up with this guy and put together a working keyboard.

What a loser. I NEVER get unsolicited calls for donations. Ever. I get stuff in the mail & emails from charities I've given to online but no phone calls.

I used to get calls for the Policemen's Benevolent Society, or something like that and also from the Illinois State Police for their charity. This was back when we had a land line and caller ID, so I knew the calls were legitimate.

I used to get them frequently when I lived in the city of Chicago....which I suppose isn't so surprising.

Got 'em all the time in NJ, nowhere else though. None of the various fire companies (Kind of a Jersey thing, people who haven't lived there wouldn't understand), Sherrifs' association, and every other damned thing. However, none of them did their OWN fundraising, they hired a fundraising company to do it for a cut (Usually the lion's share, I suspect) of the proceeds. Frankly if a group doesn't care enough about their own fundraising to do it with their own volunteers, I don't care enough about them to give them any money.

Read up on those calls and you'll learn they are almost invariably a scam. Police organizations do indeed sign up with the fundraising companies, but those companies then use huge boiler room operations, often out-of-state, to make the calls. Some even manipulate phone numbers to appear legit on caller ID.
Then, a tiny, microscopic fraction of the often huge sums raised actually go to the police groups. Even that sliver of the actual take is more than nothing, and the effort required from the police groups is zero, so they continue to sign up.
