Check this site. Closely. No worms, viruses, etc. It's from the State of Michigan.

See any problems?

Arabic, Spanish, and English "transrations"?

Yep. Almost. "Press 3 for Arabic". First time I ever hear that, I'll cease doing any business with the company or entity that says that.

Michigan Removes 30,000 College Students From Food Stamp Program

In an effort to cut costs and balance Michigan’s state budget, Human Services Director Maura Corrigan has removed an estimated 30,000 college students from the state’s food stamp program.

“Maybe (students) could go get a part-time job — that’s what I did,” said Corrigan, a former justice of the Michigan Supreme Court in a recent story from The Detroit News.”

I had the misfortune of returning to the Great Lake state this past weekend. The family-related stuff was all good, but surveying the remains of Detroit revealed the abortion that that corner of the state has become.

My aunt said that garbage collection has dropped off from once weekly to "whenever"; the upper-level police department is decidedly and completely corrupt, and the school districts are completely devoid of resources, materials, and -- it should be no surprise -- effective leadership.

The only thing that doesn't appear to be in short supply is decrepit, seedy, ramshackle and dilapidated crack houses a stone's throw from Comerica Park where the Tigers play.

Oh, and former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is pimping his new book "The Rise, Fall and Revelation of Kwame Kilpatrick" penned, of course, behind prison walls. I mean, after all, what else is a convicted liar going to do but tell more lies?
