Title: Obama campaign to get big-screen bin Laden boost?

The most memorable moment of President Obama's tenure so far -- the May raid that killed Osama bin Laden -- is getting the Hollywood treatment from an Oscar-winning director and screenwriter.

And it's going to be released less than a month before Election Day 2012.

The yet-to-be-titled project from director Kathryn Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal -- the duo behind The Hurt Locker, which won the Oscar for best film of 2009 -- is scheduled for release on Oct. 12, 2012.

The focus of the film is on Navy SEAL Team 6, which performed the bin Laden operation, but some political observers can't help but wonder how much it will touch on Obama's role, and how it might affect his re-election bid at that stage of the campaign.

This would not be possible if the Citizens United case had went the other way. I wonder if they'll include all the civilian Afghans killed by Obama's drone strikes?

It won't work.  Ticket prices will be near $20 by then, and since a lot of people will still be unemployed, they won't be able to afford to see it.

Breitbart tweeted on it last night, and I replied to him, "I wonder if it'll be 16 hours long to replicate how long it took Obama to decide?"

He retweeted it.  Wootage!!!

Boehlert can bite my shiny metal ass.

He was bitching the other day about one of Breibart's followers "stalking" him.  Near as I can tell, his only job is to tweet shit about Breitbart all day long.

Peter King asks for probe into White House's role in bin Laden movie

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Peter King (R-N.Y.) on Wednesday demanded an investigation into a report that the White House is cooperating with a film on the mission to kill Osama bin Laden.

In a letter to the Defense Department and the CIA, King asked for a probe and classified briefing about any cooperation or consultation between the agencies and the producers of the film, set to be directed by Kathryn Bigelow, who in 2008 made “The Hurt Locker,” which won six Oscars, including best picture and best director.

“The administration’s first duty in declassifying material is to provide full reporting to Congress and the American people, in an effort to build public trust through transparency of government,” King wrote. “In contrast, this alleged collaboration belies a desire of transparency in favor of a cinematographic view of history.”

If there is collusion between the White Mosque and the film makers would that violate campaign finance laws?
