How come businesses used to flourish before regulations

were removed and when they all paid their taxes. The arguments about reasons why they're not hiring make no fugging sense. It's fugging sabotage and greed.

2. Yeah, seems like the country did a lot better when there were regulations

in place and companies paid their fair share...funny that.

When have businesses ever paid their fair share? I can't imagine any rational amount being what you would consider a fair share.
And just when are you going to pay your fair share?

11. Regulations have not been removed.

A ridiculous statement.

I was thinking the same thing.

What regulations were removed?

What regulations were removed?

Oh, a few have been from time to time, mostly under Republican Presidents, and even then just in a few particular industries...and that generally only after they have become completely irrelevant.  Of course every one that is removed is only be replaced by several times its weight in new, overlapping and occasionally contradictory ones from an ever-increasing list of State and Federal regulatory agencies.

I'm sure the alert buttons are slapping like crazy on former9thward for the grave indiscetion of having a lucid moment in public.

Just how stoned do you have to be to come up with the notion that business and industry in the western world and the US in particular have anything even close to a shortfall in regulation ?

It boggles the mind.  Anyone with even a passing familiarity with government, the practice of law, or operating a business here would know that there is enough regulation that you could insulate a cold-storage warehouse with it, and then paper all the walls with the new regs that came out while you were busy doing that.

Long story and I'll try to keep it short.

I had a great uncle that started a trucking company way back in the 30's. Over the years he bought "Trucking Rights" on certain roads. He had rights to haul "all" of some large companies products in our state. Back in the 70's he was getting old and he saw the end coming to "Trucking Rights" and certain government trucking regulations so he sold all his "Trucking Rights". Truckers with "rights" could make a good living back then but doing away with that has caused competition and a reduction in shipping cost. It's good if you're a shipper, not good if you're a trucker or trucking company.

Side note here. Back in the 50's, daddy ran a store and we got goods delivered by one trucker every Thursday. We were his last stop before heading back to his home terminal 40 miles away. When he left our store he had to drive 26 miles to a small town east of us and then turn left on another road and then drive 45 miles home because they didn't own " Trucking Rights" on the road from our store north to his terminal.

The Rex primitive tries to point out some regs he views as having had an effect, but as is typical the conclusion doesn't match the premise.  If there is currently a lack of regulation as the Rex primitive suggests, then corps wouldn't have moved overseas because they would have found their corporate paradise here in the USA.  But corps have been relocating, which automatically proves that the "lack of regulations" the primitives are trying to imply has hurt the USA doesn't exist.  Corps are moving precisily because of too much regulations, and they can do better economically elsewhere.  "Increasing regulations on corps" and "corps that flourish" is a non sequitor.

The Rex primitive is too stupid to try and argue this with us because we'd bury him in his own vomit.

Companies have never paid taxes.  Consumers pay those taxes.  You know, those of us who don't use food stamps, handouts, or buy our food used.
