Record 44.7 Million People on Food Stamps
The one and only clearest indication of just how effective the recovery and QE2 (Quantitative Easing 2) in general has been, comes courtesy of the USDA, whose just released update of April participation in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), better known as food stamps, shows yet another record, this time 44.647 million people, an increase from May’s 44.587 million. And after rising modestly in the last month, the average monthly benefit per household dropped again to a post April 2009 revision low of $282.38/month.

It started rising when the Dems took congress and then underwent a rapid escalation after Teh Won won.

1. But there are no bread-lines!
No, but that is only because those places have ran out of food. We have to hope for change in 2012.
Another thread that won't see much traffic from the DUmmies.

Looks like Pam Dawson got on the dole, since the DUmp slammed her for wanting to use a food bank.
Groceries for a four-story home that sleeps fifty don't come cheap.

10. Fortunately, we have the SNAP program, a much more humane way... Updated at 11:44 PM

... to ensure that people get a little food in their bellies.
I mean this in all seriousness (despite my previous inartful attempt at snark): those SNAP cards are the reason we don't have people standing in bread-lines today, thank the liberal pantheon of gods.
Yes, the food pantries are being emptied out. Could you imagine if there was no one else to turn to?
The right-wingers shriek and moan about "Big Gummint." Well, that's fine by me.
If my government can help keep 44.7 million people (plus their dependents) from starving to death in an economic catastrophe, then good.
That's the sort of thing We the People formed a government for, in the first place.
:D :D :D
If I recall correctly, the Declaration of Independence was written because King George refused to give out food stamps and unemployment checks, he also wasn't taxing the rich enough. :whatever:

I'm guessing, just guessing, mind you--that there aren't this many homeless or destitute folks out there.

5. Or disappear people. A little silent shock and awe.
Well, they'll know where to start, counter-revolutionary.

OH please. You're such a DUouchebag. Cliche much?

I'm "rich" by their standards (I have a job.)
Know where I spent my vacation, DUmmies? Three days in a cabin in the north country of New Hampshire. No yachts anywhere in sight.

Welcome to Bush's America.
-
The rest of the story is, 22 million of those don't really need them, but the program is pushed aggressively by "Community organizers" and it is sort of like free money, so it draws leeches like a party of hemophiliacs lost in a swamp.
-
I decided NOT to read the DUmp responses.
Let me guess, no calls for a real plan to get the ecomomy going, just the "We need more money for POOR people and the unemployed" meme.

A 70% increase since Nanzi Pelosi took over the HOR and Dingy Harry got control of the Senate.
A 36% increase since 0bama and his reign of incompetence started.
Vote democratic and greatly increase the number of poor people!

Has anyone seen the Buick yet??

Isn't overloading the welfare system part of the Cloward-Piven strategy?

Yes, but that alleged strategy has more holes in it than a three-year-old's explanation of how the chocolate milk got out of the fridge and all over the floor.

Just because a theory has holes in it , doesn't mean the left won't try it. Once a welfare program gets funding, it's virtually impossible to cut it.

This might explain where and how some of these "destitute" folks are living...

It's like using a suicide vest for a bank robbery...it'll work up to a point, but then after that line is crossed it will turn out much worse for the idiot using it than for anyone else.
