Infant malnutrition at staggering levels in Massachusetts
By John Marion
3 August 2011
The Boston Globe reported last week on staggering levels of infant malnourishment in the Boston area. Basing itself on research by the Children’s HealthWatch organization, the Globe compared malnourishment among poor Boston children to that seen in the “developing world.â€

1. America is going to hell fast..
This is so sad.
America? This is MA's citizens and their food programs.
Supposedly I'm the evil conservative in flyover country but you uber-smart libs are too powerless to care for your own in your own states without my participation in your every idiotic scheme.

2. I'm blown away that this is happening in my state.
Fortunately, because it's Mass, it will probably be remedied promptly.
Not if Kerry keeps dodging his taxes by parking his luxury yacht in neighboring states.
EAT THE RICH!

3. Peasantification
There's a threshold of suffering that we're approaching--a let-them-eat-cake moment.
Yes, but this time the cake will be slathered in yummy Heinz ketchup!

5. I dream of a day where nutrition, how we feed our bodies, aren't linked to politics.
We spend more time on how we fuel our cars than we do us.
You want sad? There it is.
Happy Meals for all!
Just no toys because that's bad.

15. But the Health Insurance Gangsters never miss a meal in Massachusetts.

Highest health care costs in the world, and all must buy it.
Neoliberal Priorities: feed the corporations first, and they'll be charitably disposed towards the rest of us. Or not. But you can't complain, because it's the most efficient and, therefore, best of all possible worlds.
Obama has linked his law to the MA model.
I'll bet you're still voting for Obama next year.

16. The answer to that is ... More tax cuts for the wealthy, of course!!!
Who needs tax cuts when you can just park your foregn-built luxury yacht in the next state over and fly home because it's cheaper than paying the taxes?

Why, do you think that Deval Patrick will just print more money and solve the problem?
****ing moron. :whatever:

One wonders about something here.
Massachusetts of course is notoriously corrupt; bribes, payoffs, overpayments to pals of the machine for goods and services, and somesuch.
Corruption has a price-tag; it would take some doing, but I'm sure one could discern that dollar amount.
One suspects that if Massachusetts eliminated all the corruption that permeates their commonwealth and local machines, there'd be plenty of money to spend on infants, children, and the aged.

I'll believe that isn't just a pantload of hyperbolic bullshit when the paper runs pics of Boston kids with distended guts, drawn faces, and limbs like sticks. Until then I will regard this as more baloney than you can find in an overloaded Oscar Mayer warehouse.
-
Obviously these are rich people's kids. If they were really poor, then they'd be just fine because of how well the welfare system works. And who else besides the rich would be cruel enough to not feed their kids? Geez.

Why doesn't their socialized medicine pay for baby formula or something? Isn't preventative care supposed to be the big thing with ObaMittCare?

There's not enough left after they trade their food stamps for cash to buy crack or make last month's payment on the Escalade (with 27" rims, btw). Good news is that free cell phones are coming, so that should free up some of their cash that they would otherwise spend on iPhones instead of baby food.

Staggering? Yeah, right. This country has more nutrition programs than you can sort through.
It's the World Socialist Web Site. I tried going over and digging into their "research", but my computer started to get the shakes, the shudders, the vapors from being there. I had to go.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin is responsible for 60% of the new jobs created last month.

Heh! Zonelabs firewall wouldn't even let me go there!!! Said it was infested with parasites.
Just kidding. :-) :-) :-)
