Title: Favortie Animated TV Show. (Not counting South Park or Simpsons)
Post by: Rebel Yell on April 24, 2008, 10:33:17 AM
I love South Park, and the Simpsons are alright.  I just don't want the thread to be overwhelmed with South Park/Simpson replies.

Personally, I like King of the Hill.  I think it would make a great live action sitcom, but would have to be watered down.  I heard one of my favorite lines on there yesterday.  Hank is talking to the mailman and asks, "Who would want to lick a Bill Clinton stamp?  What are they thinking?  How about a Dale Earnhardt stamp?  I mean the man won 7 Winston Cups."

Lick a Bill Clinton stamp? Someone already did and she wore a blue dress.
The real question here is who would want to lick a Hillary Clinton stamp.  :o
Sorry, I will now wash my mouth out with soap.

Beavis and Butthead for sure.

I also enjoyed Liquid Television which spawned them.

How did I forget Family Guy?  I go to sleep to it every night.  But I record King of the Hill to watch after work.

I know I'm late catching on to this one, but I have discovered Robot Chicken.  I record it, too.  Mindless hilarity.

Me too!
"Stan, where have you been"?
"That's for me to know and you to find out. But I don't want you to find out, so it's just for me to know".

Drawn Together started out great, but evenually devolved into too much gayness for me to handle.

Yeah last season wasn't as good as the previous. Not that this has anything to do with the thread, but South Park reminded me, I saw part of a movie the other night that was just a hoot. Had one of the South Park guys in it and it was about some Mormon who became a porn star to pay for his wedding, I think. I only caught the last half hour but laughed until I had tears rolling down my cheeks.

I watch the Venture Bros. sometimes. It is pretty funny, so, I'll go with that.

Does Robot Chicken count?  If so, yes.  Their Star Wars parody was one of the best ever.

Of course it counts, it's not real actors.  :)

Hmmm...I've seen the previews for That's My Bush while watching SP but always figured it was leftist drivel.

Though I'll watch just about anything that had Chuck Jones attached too.

Don't know if anyone remembers this, but I used to run home after school to be in front of the TV for Tranzor Z.

I loved the hell out of Robotech back in "the Day;" though I despised Lin Min-Mei. I drew a Pentouse pictoral of her.

Nowadays I'm a definite fan of Avatar: the Last Airbender.

EDIT: add in the Power Puff Girls for well-written, funny and artistic (in its minimalist way).

I've been watching Home Movies again since Adult Swim is replaying it.  Great show.

I like The Venture Brothers too and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Older shows I used to like a lot were The Tick and The Phantom 2040.

I never get into Animee too much.  Sometimes I watch the one where the guy has white hair and is a demon and I think, Oh that looks interesting, but I never get hooked in.  And I started to record Blood Plus (which always looks like Blood Prius to me, that's the show I want to see!) but I never got into watching it and just deleted it when I needed room.

Oh, and Futurama was great.

Never really got into the Simpsons.

ALGORE Was Captian Planet. They used him as the idea for the green haired bastard. Just ask AL and Tippper

Coca Cola thought you should put your face down to worship Lil Earnhardt when you bought a soda from one of their machines. :-)

OK, now I am reminded of a bunch more:

ALL the Jay Ward shows: Tom Slick, Superchicken, George of the Jungle, Rocky & Bullwinkle.  And of course all the WB ones -- Bugs and Roadrunner.  But the classics, bot the new crop.

Are you old enough to remember Felix the Cat being shown in black & white on the Kaptain Kangaroo Show?

Absolutely -- and I remember Sheriff John (who, I hear tell, is still alive). I also remember Winky Dink and drawing stuff on the plastic sheet on the TV.

Oh yeah, how could I forget Rocky and Bullwinkle and when I was around 5 Underdog was my absolute favorite.

I had a ring with a "secret" compartment and I would put two candy korns in there as the vitamin pill.

Memories...Can be beautiful again.

Oh yeah, I love Felix too.  When I first got Dish TV one of their HD networks had old Felix cartoons.  And then this reminds me of Caspar the Friendly Ghost!
