Cell phone question...

just bought a cheapie Samsung because my cell phone died, apparently from humidity and sweat. I bought it in December 2010 and AT&T will not honor the warranty. :grr:

Anyhow, there's a film over the main window that displays "Texting and driving...it can wait" and obscures the window. Any ideas on how to get rid of that short of getting a straight razor and getting it off that way? It's driving me crazy and I can't see what I'm doing.

Thanks for any input.

1. Won't it just lift at a corner and peel off?

2. is it just a sticker like they put on the window to protect it? you should just be able to pull it up at the corner if that is the case.

3. Those film peel off easily IF you can find which corner to grab.

Failing that, try scotch tape. Apply near the edge of the screen, then lift off. It should take the film with it.

4. A straight razor may be the way to go.

Follow up with some Goo Gone if you need to.

5. Most likely a factory sticker, try lifting a corner of it with a toothpick and peel at a sharp angle

Hope this helps!

6. Press a piece of tape over it, corner to corner. Rub down firmly. Pull up slowly.

As you pull the tape up, it should catch the edge of the film and bring it up from the phone.

Do NOT use a razor, knive, or other sharp metal object.

PLS let us know what ends up working!

Not a DUMMY, she must be a diabolical genius to be able to sucker all the other DUmmies into giving earnest suggestions.

7. Thanks, everyone, but there is no obvious way or flap to just

pull this off. I even tried a seam ripper, but thought better of it after a few strokes. Sigh. I guess there's another trip to WallyWorld in my future.

11. Not a Strive, just a Go phone, recommended by the AT&T person

when I was told the warranty was not going to be honored. I'm still angry.

Bet she didn't screw up her other phone, I bet she didn't pay the bill.

AT&T warranties do not cover water or physical damage.

Isn't the go phone a pre-paid phone?  If she had a regular account and her phone died because of sweat or whatever, you can't get out of the contract because you screwed up your phone.  I'm betting she didn't pay her account so she lost the service., then she had to go to a pre-paid phone.

Someone should tell her to steam it off. And yes, a go phone is a prepaid deal. Her service was turned off for non-payment.
This DUmmy is so dense, she probably shops all day for a picture frame, looking for one that doesn't already have a picture in it.
