Oh my.

That's what Pedro Picasso said.

I'm sorry one has to get out the boat and row over to Skins's island to see the drawings, but that happens.

Two very precient cartoons I drew way back when...

These are from 2004. This first one is the best, message-wise, in terms of our current situation, even if it was one of my worst drawings ever.

This one says it all...except Obama is at the bottom of the ravine, with the stagecoach about to land on his head.

Oh, and a bonus, 'toon. If I re-drew it today, I could substitute Harry Reid or Mr. Obama, or any number of characters...

1. Excellent!

I really enjoy your cartoons.

I used to have a syndicated strip in the early 90's.

There is an old saying that good ideas can carry bad art but great art can never carry average ideas. I think I was among the those that had decent art but could never come up with the great ideas consistently enough.

Anyway...you got both!

2. Thanks, Wiffen. Sadly, very few can make a living of "syndication" anymore.

It was my dream as a child. Trudeau, and then Larson and Watterson...I wanted to be them. Now, I only know a couple of cartoonists who can actually make a living at it. Wiley, the god of current cartooning, imho, is one of those few. Most cartoonists now work at ad agencies or some other "day job" because newsprint is dead, and no one has figured out a way to make serious money on the internet yet.

So what do I do now? I work at a political ad agency. And I haven't drawn a new cartoon in a couple of years. Makes me sad. But I think the time is right to get back into it.

I must admit.
The lettering did stay within the balloons, at that time.
Not so much, anymore.

Uh oh. Sounds like the Mission Control braintrust has figured out they don't really need all three cartoon boys, especially when the lowest-rated one does nothing but draw empty speech balloons and surf moonbat internet sites all day.

So Pedro can go back to freelance cartooning. There's a huge market for cartoons depicting the president as a monkey. Oh, wait, no...now that the
president is a jug-eared Kenyan, Pedro's monkey cartoons will be called racist, won't they? But, uh, that's all he's ever done.

Not a problem. Pedro's been living off his wife's income, anyway.

Those cartoons were terrible; not clever, and the message was not clear.  Also, did he draw nipples on a figure in a political cartoon?   :mental:

His real full name is also posted.

Damn, I must have missed that. If that's true, I may have to rethink my opinion of his "art".

I think Pedro's full name IRL has been known for a long time.
We don't use it much because he's so abysmally stupid and unimportant.
Pam Dawson, Anne Pritchett, hell, even Judy Smith, are a lot more entertaining.

It doesn't help that he keeps the words inside the speech bubble, if he misspells the words.
