This Gang of Six Thing is Actually Quite a Way Off.
There is no bill. There's no language. There's really nothing about it that has been finalized. It's a bare skeleton of something. The only way this is going to happen is if there's a separate measure passed to raise the debt ceiling. Then, you can expect at least six months to a year of Congressional maneuvering to create something that may, or may not, actually resemble a bill.
During that process, all this stuff will get changed, deleted, re-inserted, qualified, altered, and generally manipulated by Congress until it scarcely resembles what we're talking about here right now. Everyone will want to add their pet project, exceptions to each part of the bill, a bit of tasty pork to suck in their local voters, and more.
We're talking about something that doesn't actually exist in any form that can become law. It's a long, long way from that stage. so, if they create and pass a debt ceiling increase, the actual language of what might pass down the road will be determined. We simply don't know what will end up in such a bill, not be in the bill, or be changed so much that it will be unrecognizable.
There's nothing right now they can pass. The only thing that seems possible before the deadline is a naked debt ceiling increase bill. That one's easy.
So, we can afford to make our protests on this once that's done. It's a long way from becoming law.

8. It doesn't matter if there is a bill or not, there is a process unless
you're still claiming the Washington Post made it all up. Are you?

12. It's irresponsible, not reasonable, to tell people to stop working on their own behalf.
With all these "bend over" threads, maybe we can get a new forum, GD:Bend Over.
lol is all over this thread. :whatever:

At least half the male DUmmies would race to joint that one.

My opinion on the Gang of 6 thing has moved a bit since yesterday, when I said their credibility was destroyed when Obi-wan pissed all over htem the first time.
It now appears to me that they provide a perfect vehicle for him and his pet monkey Reid to avoid committing anything new to writing with their own fingerprints on it, and therefore there really is a pretty good chance their recommendations will become at least the Oministration's starting position if not the first pre-mark-up draft of the Senate bill.

There would be quite a line to get into that DUmp forum if it existed. :catfight: :gay:

The Dude must have been DUmped for persistence in injecting reasonable comments in crazy DUmp threads. He was skeptical of some bouncy tales, and was one of the few who would mock nutcase nadin's comically ignorant condescension. He was way to normal to survive at the DUmp, and it's a miracle he lasted this long.

I kind of feel bad about SDUnderhead because I really put a whole,"He's not my mole", counter espionage thing for the last several weeks. He was great ripping up truthers, dude.
-
I wish SD would come here, I actually liked reading a lot of his posts, he was always mocking them it seemed.

I believe he was using his real name at the DUmp. A bunch of stuff got deleted once when a DUmmie found that his first name was Sheldon and linked to sources found.

My thoughts too. He and a couple of others like MM, who is a self professed former Freeper and conservative (I don't know all his back story), can be counted on to point out hypocrisy and lies at the DUmp.

Ah, the old breaking-from-the-collective thing. Got it.

He was not of the body. Landru...Landru...

Well, that figures. SDuderstadt was one of the few DUers who would actually demand proof of some of the bullshit claims the dumbasses over there would spew, while the rest of the lickspittle bunch would just kowtow and nod in uncritical agreement. He was especially active in the September 11 forum, knocking down the tinfoil hat brigade. He and my mole had a few humorous exchanges with the nutters there. Leave it to DU to purge the only people who occasionally make sense.
RIP, Dude.
-
Oh, that is too bad, I had a feeling it was inevitable. He just made too much sense for a run of the mill DUmmie, and he called people on their bullshit.
And if I were MineralMan, I would quit DU and not be back. His only comment though on the gravedancing thread was "Hmph." That's courage.
