President Obama is slated to celebrate his 50th birthday with a major fundraiser at Chicago's historic Aragon Ballroom on August 3. A campaign official told CBS News that the campaign is moving forward with the event, though the White House says it could be cancelled if a deal is not reached on raising the debt limit by the August 2 deadline.

As of now, however, the event is "not on hold," the official told CBS News.

Tickets to the fundraiser, slated to take the day before the president's August 4 birthday, are reportedly going for between $50 each to $35,800 for a pair.  According to the Chicago Sun-Times, it will feature a star-studded VIP "birthday concert" -- possibly featuring Jennifer Hudson -- as well as dinner with the president.

People that want to buy favors from the (P)resident, like unions and other crooks.  Who knows maybe Blagovich will scrounge up the cash and buy himself a pardon.

Well according to O'Reilly the R's are losing the PR war to Obama about the debt ce.iling and if they don't compromise he'll win reelection so maybe he does have something to celebrate.  :mental:

I think O'Reilly is wrong on that. 

I haven't seen any recent polls that support it either.

I know how the French would've treated this asshat around 200 years ago.  Thankfully, we're a bit more civilized and will just vote him out of office and into a life of shame as a one-termer come 2012.

I thinks that is partly due to the media claiming that grandma is being targeted by the GOP.
