Rep. Capuano, I’d Pay Your Supporters $10 NOT To Vote
Monday, July 18, 2011

Congressman Michael Capuano, fresh from his call for government union members to “get a little bloody” in their fight for more tax dollars, now has another brilliant idea: Punish voters for not voting.

[Capuano] also raised a potential scenario in which Americans are assessed $10, “and if you go vote, you get your 10 dollars back.”

I'm pretty sure it's illegal (selling votes, that is).

Since the front side of that plan is that you'd have to put in the $10 to vote in the first place, it'd be an illegal poll tax.

You can't even get the DEMS to agree to showing an ID at the polls.

Since when did the law ever matter to liberals?  And I wonder if Rep. Capuano realizes it was southern DEMOCRATS who used the poll tax to disenfranchise minorities.

You stay classy, Massholes.

Well, with this idea, they'd be all for it so they could get their money back.

How about this, skip 3 elections, your registration is suspended. You have to go and re-instate it in person, with ID

We need less voters in federal elections, not more. What we need to do is weed the moochers from the voter roles. If you're on welfare, your voting rights are suspended until you get back on your feet.
