Many in this world are starving while we grow food to turn into fuel for automobiles.

And to counter this starvation, we blow up women and children half way around the world, from the safety of an air conditioned room in Florida, California, Nevada or wherever.

What is wrong with us?

Well Al Gore was a big reason for Ethanol usage, he even later had to admit he made a mistake, then there was a thread on DU saying the world has too many people anyway so isn't bombing them good for mother Earf?

Liberalism.

Ethanol takes 1.8 gallons of fuel, real fuel to produce 1 gallon of ethanol.

1 gallon of ethanol produces the same energy output as .8 gallons of real fuel.

Net is that 1 gallon of ethanol delvers the energy of .45 gallons of real fuel. For the lurking DUmbasses that means for each gallon of ethanol 2.25 gallons of real fuel are used.

Plus it takes 120+/-gallons of water for each 1 gallon of ethanol.

More on Liberal SMART Power!!!11!!eleventy

For each green job created, 2.2 real jobs are lost.

1+1=POTATO.

Well, there's a problem with this, folks.

It's pretty well established that ethanol's less efficient than gasoline; for the record, I myself use 100% pure gasoline.

The primitives seem to think that if the grain and beans currently used for ethanol were used instead to feed the hungry, all would be okay.  The primitives are wrong.

The reason grain and bean prices are so high right now is the demand for them in the manufacture of ethanol.

If there was no demand created by the ethanol industry, that does not necessarily mean farmers will keep growing grain and beans, this time to feed the hungry.  Many of them might choose to grow nothing at all.

Ethanol's putting money into the wallets of farmers, but it doesn't follow that if such crops were converted for human consumption, that the farmers would grow it, or as much of it.

Well then its a good thing I don't buy corn or beans! But the ethanol still puts a hurt on my wallet cause all my motors are carbureted and the shit eats everything!

Also, I believe land that gets enough rain to grow feed corn does not always get enough rain to grow beans or corn for humans...and the same group that blames farmers for growing the crop that makes them the most money is also the group that hates irrigation and wants to keep the lakes and rivers for critters instead of using the water to irrigate.

Damn ethanol needs to be put to it's proper use.
In a chared oak barrel.
