Obama to GOP: 'Don't call my bluff'
Source: Associated Press
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama bluntly told Republican congressional leaders Wednesday they must compromise quickly if the government is to avoid an unprecedented default, adding, "Don't call my bluff" by passing a short-term debt limit increase he has threatened to veto.
The presidential warning, directed at House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., marked an acrimonious end to a two-hour negotiating session at the White House that produced no evident progress toward a compromise
-snip-
Cantor quoted Obama as saying the talks had reached the point that "something's got to give," and demanded Republicans either jettison their demand for deficit cuts at least equal to the size of the debt limit or drop their opposition to tax increases.
"And he said to me, `Eric, don't call my bluff.' He said, `I'm going to the American people with this.'"

1. Cantor just doesn't get it! Obama is PRESIDENT! He's not a junior staffer.
This disrespect is very offensive.
And, it is intentional.
He thinks he can "cut Obama down to size".
I call "Bullshit!"
Listen up SharonAnn, you DUchebag, Cantor didn't think he can cut President X into size. He already did.

5. The only person Cantor is cutting down to size is himself.
And you are as big a DUchebag as SharonAnn

So, is the Kenyan admitting he's bluffing?

So, is the Kenyan admitting he's bluffing?
He sure is. Just like he was when he said social security checks might not go out.
-
Well, after saying that, he's certainly going to be the one with the poop sticking to him if the only thing Congress can agree to pass is a short-term deal, and he really does veto it.

Obama to GOP: "Don't call my bluff-A-low. Me-Shall gets violent if she's interupted while she's eating."

Interesting.......
One wonders if the "smartest guy ever to be president", knows that a "bluff" is a gambit that is only employed when one is holding a losing hand.........

Pretty obvious Obama doesn't play poker worth a damn. First off, you only bluff if you DON'T think your opponent has the balls to call you. Second, you never bluff with your entire chip stack.

The second that rolled off The Magic Negro's(TM) lips, I'd have been "All In", had I been in Cantor's shoes.
Too bad the Republicans inside the beltway are almost completely spineless lickspittles, with very few exceptions.

Tell you what DUmmies, we will respect your president just as much as you respected Bush.
Now all of a sudden you goons preach that everyone must respect the president, obviously you mean the Democrat President, (I go out of my way now to never say democratic, just to piss the goons off).

Not to mention for a bluff to work the other guy has got to think you got the cards. Telling the other guy not to call your bluff is pretty stupid. I'd love to play some poker with obumble. I'd win so much I could retire.

Last time I checked, the legislative branch was equal to the executive branch, not subordinate. At least that's what liberals kept telling us when that guy from Texas was President.

I guess the Presidet forgot that Congress can overide his vetos if they have the numbers and this isn't going so well for Barry Big Ears.

I want to play poker with the HMIC.

Since when did Barry get crowned King and Despot in this country.
We have built in laws to prevent any single man or group of men from taking over the country and no one not even Obama his Holiness should be able to threaten us.
Call his Bluff and when the welfare checks do not go out stand back, time to let him do some explaining to the country on whose fault it is we are about rock bottom broke.
If people are going to riot, may as well do it when the weather is warm and people can live in tents after they burn down the city's. May do them good, some will actually get jobs to rebuild the city's. :whistling: :whistling:
Might as well do this now as if he gets another term, it will just get worse and he won't have to worry about getting elected, the King can really run amok for another few years.
He the KING promised change, well we got it, and when people are hungry they tend to blame the sitting political party, they may even demand HE get us out of this mess-----Waiting for a new Crises to happen to take our minds off what is coming with that Bozo in power.
I am beginning to understand why my and your Ancestors ran from all over the word to a new land. Only new Continent we can run to that is not occupied today is Antarctica and the penguins would attack us or demand equal rights. :censored: :censored: :censored:

Well now that was different, doncha know Chris? That was when we had an evil/dictator/dumbass/drunk in the White House. Now we got us a guy that shits skittles, pisses wine and is the mostest, smartest, bestest, guy evah! in the White House. :fuelfire:
I'm still waiting for my free pony, mortgage payment, free gasoline, free food, etc. He promised!!!!

They are just too stupid to realize that is exactly what he did.

Ever notice how the huge numbers of people are into survival, storing food and weapons in the last couple years??
The last time I remember this large amount of people worried about survival was back when people were building bomb shelters in the 50-60's ------ Better dead then Red and what not.
Today we worry not about the Russians but our own government and the people it lets into the country.
Today we know that down the road a small spark will build and will have us running for the hills. Will it be caused by our own government, outsiders, public unrest, who knows but millions are hunkering down wondering if and when we will face the unimaginable.
Didn't have these thoughts when Regan was in office, both Bushes never made us feel this way. Clinton put money in our pockets, so whose fault is it that has people buying Ammo by the bucket load and planting gardens as the foreign vegetables can make us ill. Stored food, freeze dried or dehydrated is flying off the shelves.
I have noticed that more then a few Druggist now try to sell the idea of buying a 3 month supply of needed RX---for the customers convenience, really?, gives one thought.
Collective thought here, not brought on by fear mongers, but just that smell in the air, the pricking of our thumbs, the subconsious that wispers that something is just not right here.
Kind of a waiting for the next shoe to fall, are we all paranoid, why do we go into extreme cuponing to stock up half the house with toilet paper. Whats this with all the cell phones with cameras, why are our elected officials every month acting like idiots and getting thrown out of office????
If all this is normal today what will happen in the next 10 years.
The heat is at almost 90 in my house, makes me feel not so good, outside temp is only 72, damn insulation was put in backward.

I don't about you, but I was very afraid when Clinton was president as he was systematically gutting the military while simultaneously committing them to numerous protracted "humanitarian missions."
Oh, and ALWAYS be wary of the Russians... dead than red still applies.

This reminds me of a common I heard frequently in the socialist paradises of the workers and peasants; it's apparently actually an ancient Russian proverb:
"The German may be a nice lad, but it's best to hang him anyway."

And they are back in a major position of power in Europe. I think the French would last about as long as the last time against the re-unified Deutchland. Poland might give them a bit of a go but France? :rotf:

Maybe they don't have poker in Manchuria? Actually I doubt Mr. Present could Forrest Gump his way through a game of Go Fish with the cognitive skills group down in the day room.

He probably sucks at cards as bad as he does at bowling, baseball, and running a country.
I'm honestly dumbfounded at how this guy got anywhere through his own effort. I can forgive being old, tired, and burned-out, but those kind of people don't run for President.

He didn't, he's a product of affirmative action.

He's never done anything in his life except ride along on his skin color. Affirmative action is the reason he's sitting in the Oval Office.

Well....I'd guess that if not for affirmative action, he'd be wearing a white jacket and shorts, passing out drinks to hotel guests on Waikiki beach.

This is the economic acumen that our HMIC has demonstrated:
From the New York Daily News --
"A close examination of their finances shows that the Obamas were living off lines of credit along with other income for several years until 2005, when Obama’s book royalties came through and Michelle received her 260% pay raise at the University of Chicago. This was also the year Obama started serving in the U.S. Senate…
In April 1999, they purchased a Chicago condo and obtained a mortgage for $159,250. In May 1999, they took out a line of credit for $20,750. Then, in 2002, they refinanced the condo with a $210,000 mortgage, which means they took out about $50,000 in equity. Finally, in 2004, they took out another line of credit for $100,000 on top of the mortgage.
Tax returns for 2004 reveal $14,395 in mortgage deductions. If we assume an effective interest rate of 6%, then they owed about $240,000 on a home they purchased for about $159,250.
This means they spent perhaps $80,000 beyond their income from 1999 to 2004."
Would you let people so silly take charge of your own budget?
So, America's gullible voters put in charge of the country a man whose own history of dealing with his family's finances shows him to be utterly irresponsible. Why should we be surprised at the result?
-
Wow! :o Thanks for that, Jukin.
"Don't call my bluff." That qualifies as a gaffe. Add it to the list.
