DALLAS- Hundreds of people lined up Thursday morning to apply for Dallas County section 8 housing vouchers.
"Hundreds of people rushed the line, causing moments of unruliness"...

Looks like it turned out to be quite the marathon. Gee, I wonder how many of these eager sprinters are milking comp for injuries which prevent them from holding a job?
-
Sheeesh. I thought it was the Kenyan try outs for the Olympic marathon team.

:racist:
but very true.

The infirm are at a big disadvantage. I don't see no walkers or wheelchairs in the pic.
They should sue.
-
Betcha if those were job applications they wouldn't be running like that.

Sure they would be, just in the opposite direction. :rotf:

They're in the video. You have got to see the video (it's in the linked story), the pics don't do it justice.

Why do liberals so proudly preen and pose claiming they are the compasionate ones when they have reduced able-bodied humans to doing wind-sprints for the privilege of becoming beggars wholly dependent upon others?

It's funny because it's racist. :rotf:

Indeed.
Stay classy Dallas.

No kidding
-
Ha! It isn't even a first come first served kind of thing. They're going to take all the applicants then decide who qualifies. I doubt they are writing down the time the applicant showed up.
Iassa .... do job fairs in Dallas have the same problem?

You're kidding, right?

I couldn't find the sarcasm tag. Heh.

I'm a terrible person, being a little amused when I first saw the photo and all.
Oh BTW, this thread just proves you're all racist, just like the dummies say
-
It's always blamed on the organization. Applying for Section 8 doesn't give an automatic pass for acting like completely uncivilized loons. Take responsibility for yourself and your behavior!
-
We have a lot of fat poor people in Dallas. I have to admit that when I saw the video here on the local news, I laughed my ass off.
-
How is that hope and change working out for you DUmmies?
-
If I had been the reporter covering that, the conservative in me would have started by doing a thorough examination of the makes and models in which the applicant arrived. Arrive in anything newer than 2001 and forget about it.

Uh......yeah?? :whatever:

You beat me to that line.

Puhleeze, whiffleball, these are liberal leeches we're discussing here. :-)

I know, I know, but I'm so damn sick of the excuses.
I was at my volunteer job Friday. I work the desk doing intake for those seeking utility, food and medicine assistance. It's funded by a church consortium and through sales of donated clothing and small household items. We take very, very little other money; some USDA food and a bit of United Way.
This is a rural area and the attitudes of those requesting help are far and away thankful and gracious. I've even had grown men sit and weep at my desk because it was the first time in their lives that they've ever asked for help. Unfortunately, we seem to be experiencing an influx of folks relocating from urban Atlanta with different mindsets.
We're getting "frequent flyers" who come in regularly with a list of things they want. If we don't give them every item on their list they become belligerent and demanding. We've had the race card pulled and thrown a few times which pisses me off to no end!
