They won't talk about what brought on the deficit
Bush and the GOP took over in 2000. The had a budget SURPLUS. They then threw it away on a tax break for the rich, a Medicare Drug Program with no cost controls and nearly doubling the Military budget, including to wars.
But you will not see that recounted anywhere in the Media. You will not see anyone, anywhere mention that without Obama's capitulation on the Bush Tax Cuts in December, we would not have a "budget crisis".
It's all about the horse race and who's "winning".

No, they talk about what caused this deficit all the time, spending and more spending.

1. Why don't Democrats talk about the damage the GOP have caused? Updated at 12:38 PM
It could only help them. (Democrats). I don't get it.
Kind of hard for the dems to put the blame at the feet of the GOP, when spending increased even more during 2007 through 2010.
Guess who was in power during that time frame?
I will admit the GOP spent way too damn much, but Pelosi came along and showed us all how it's really done.

3. The failure of the Dems
to give a simple, clear message, which has the added advantage of being true, baffles me daily.
Their message is clear,
1 Raise taxes.
2 raise taxes some more.
3 ??????
4. Teh Winner!!!!!!111

8. this deficit sat there during the bu$h* years and the republicans yawned
That's why the gop was shown the door in 2006 and 2008.
Then when the dems proved to be worse they were shown the door in 2010.
See a pattern DUmmies? I doubt you do.

9. Right! Let's backtrack ten years.
We had a $260 billion dollar surplus and a projected surplus of $5 trillion by 2011. (That is today) We had paid down the national debt by a small amount without using the SS fund. We had full employment of 4.0%. The budget was balanced and we were on the way to pay off the entire national debt by 2011. (today)
But then Bush and the taxcutters came into power. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out.
Then why didn't Pelosi and Reid fix that in between 2007 and 2010? Hell from 2009 through 2010 dems controlled everything.
You can only blame Bush for so much.

You can only blame Bush for so much.
And they will continue to do so. Hopefully, the American people are sick and tired of blame games and will demand more action in the next election.

2010 was a good start.
The GOP is on notice, if they start screwing around they will lose their primaries faster than Bill Clinton can drop his pants for an intern.
So I have great hope for change in 2012.

So sick of this surplus BS. There was no surplus. How can you have a surplus when medicare is in the toilet?
