If Congress fails to raise the debt limit during wartime, Obama should declare martial law.
The Republicans are holding a gun to America's head. Extreme threats demand extreme responses.
Maybe the threat of martial law would make the teabaggers re-think their anti-American treachery.
If Congress can't do a simple thing like raising the debt limit, putting America in danger of financial collapse while our military is engaged in 3 wars, what better grounds could there be for dissolving Congress and ruling by decree?
I'm not really sure how I feel about this. I'm just throwing it out there for debate.
Hugo would be proud of you comrade.

6. It's more the threat of martial law than the actuality.

Why not make a proclamation that if Congress fails to raise the limit by a certain date, martial law will be declared. Then let Congress make the decision whether to raise the limit or let martial law be declared.
Great idea! If that doesn't work he could threaten to nuke Texas. :loser:

For 8 years there was nothing but whining, crying, moaning, and gnashing of teeth over how much of a dictator Bush was.
Now that 0bama is in office they want him to act like a dictator. :mental:

I know lurking DUmbasses won`t listen or believe it but you worthless half wit misfits would not do well under that circumstance.
Milk and honey will not rain down on you, forced labor, incarceration and execution are always the result for those that do not cooperate with the mandated functions of a communist society.

Fascism and DU go together like a pig in slop.

If he did, he'd be the second Democrat President in a row to get impeached.
-
Maybe Bush should have done this when Obama voted against it.
Oh, that's right. There was an R in office. It's different. :whatever:

And the first one arrested.
I wish he'd try the martial law tack. Having all of his screaming minions out, in view, praising their savior, Obumbler, will make me feel better about investing in my arsenal and converting my substantial saving to prescious metal (Brass and Lead, I'll take the gold later) and enjoy the target rich environment.

BINGO!

Declare Marshall Law! I have lots of guns, I welcome the practice
-
Weren't there rumors that congressmen were threatened that there martial law would be declared if they didn't pass TARP I?

Well, while you really, really don't want to cross swords with the US military, I cannot imagine they would actually back this play.

That's the problem and one that I often have to get into heated discussions about. If there is ever a revolution in this country with the government turning on the people, people think the military is just going to automatically side with the government. They say this because a personal firearm is nothing compared to an M1A2. True, but that Abrams is essentially worthless with no one to man it and I doubt most military men would fight against their own home states and people, not to mention the whole Posse Comitatus Act issue. Also it has to be mentioned that many congressmen and women, and most of the ones in the South and Midwest, will side with their states. I know many despise D.C.

My thoughts exactly. Additionally, having been around the military most of my life, I have known most all of them to be pretty conservative. I know maybe two that voted for Obama (even though they deny that now). Do the DUers really think that the military is composed of a bunch of idiots who can't/won't recognize an unlawful order when they see one? Those days disappeared with the Nuremberg Trials
P.S. I find it hilarious that spell check wants to change Obama to AMA or IBM

"Martial law"?
"Dissolving Congress and ruling by decree"?
"Deadlines for Congress or else martial law"?
O rly??? Srsly? :mental:
These mouth breathing libtard primitives really should change their bong water more often.

For proposing something so INCREDIBLY stupid, you better be 100% sure you want it, Primitive, because Obama does that, people will start locking, and loading. There will be an uproar in America, and it will be sought in the EXACT direction of your insane minority ilk. ARe you sure that's really what you want, Billoy-boy?
Actually, it's starting to sound better, and better the more I think about it. It would certainly drive all you bat scat crazies running for the hills with your tails firmly between your legs.

Yeah that's such a brillant plan their Baldrick. Might as well go looking for a gas leak with a flamethrower.
