A new push to divide the Golden State in two could make Southern California the 51st state.
"Our state legislature that is supposed to be making laws and being respected, imposes laws that aren't even lawful," Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone told Los Angeles ABC station KABC-TV. "So I think our state is California gone wild."
The current secession proposal would include the counties of Riverside, San Bernardino, Imperial, San Diego, Orange, Kings, Kern, Fresno, Tulare, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa and Mono, and have a population of 13.07 million people. The remaining state of California would have 24.18 million.

mexifornia may become a reality after all

See? Nadin said the country would break apart.
Nadin knows secession.

Between this and the State of Jefferson (http://www.jeffersonstate.com/) we will slowly minimize California's damage to our country :-)

As a resident of Orange County, I have been asking for this for several years. How could a conservative SoCal be any worse than the liberal mess we have now?
-
And my ranching buddies in the far north have wanted out for years. What would that leave?
And who would support those in the south? That area seems to hold some high maintenance people. Are there enough people in So. Cal. to get a differently focused government?
-
Cool! 2 extra Senators and it takes away the total electoral votes California has.
-
Whatever happens... none of you Californians move to Nevada and screw our state up even more. Thanks.

Take away Los Angeles county and the remaining counties in So Cal are fairly conservative and level headed. The liberal whackjobs that keep getting elected and are running the state into the ground are mainly from voters in LA county and the gay area.

Why not just give them to Mexico? Let them deal with it.
-
No way. Instead of two California nuts in the Senate, we'd have four California nuts in the Senate.
No matter how they would divide California, the nuts would still be in control.
I agree to giving California to Mexico, and Oregon and Washington to British Columbia.
The water's too cold and they have no decent beaches anyway.
Let someone else worry about fixing things after the next Big One.

And we barely have enough water to sustain life here in WY. :)
-
no secret. drugs and crime have driven taxpayers out. there goes the tax base. gotta make it up some how. so give it to mexico. they own it anyway.
and pislosi will gladly wack off their water. she needs it for her fish project. which has turned N Cal into a waste land costing thousands of jobs.
CA is a model of what happens to a state when democraps take over.

Some of us conservatives who live in the predominately conservative southern counties of the state would disagree with your suggestion.
-
Fine with me, lets see just how much we can charge for the water WE hold.

They talked about Jefferson for years.

I say they cut California in two the long way. Let the liberals have the coastal areas where they are strong already and let the conservatives have the rest of the state.
