Maria Shriver has filed for divorce from actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, ABC News Los Angeles affiliate KABC is reporting.
Shriver filed the paperwork today in Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to KABC.
Shriver cited "irreconcilable differences" as her reason for ending the 25-year marriage, TMZ.com reported.

Perhaps not, her mother was exposed to the sun for 50 years of sailing, her mother had to watch 2 brothers assassinated, one brother that murdered a young girl/ or left her to drown after an accident on a bridge.
This woman had to come with grips with a older brother that died, Joe, in the military, her older sister by family reasons given a Lobotomy, to insure the family name-----she was in in love with a married man.
Later in life this woman had to bury both parents, loose John, John, and children to death by accidents and drugs, much scandal including murder in the family.
Finally her daughter marries this Actor, as her sister did, Peter Lawford and seems to be settled down.
Then her surviving brother and his nephew get into a mess with rape charges.
What the **** do we expect this woman to look like after this full life, Bless her heart, she was lucky to survive from her crazy family long ago.
Now her daughter is in a mess, I believe this poor woman has died and thank heavens she is at peace.
For all that wish they had been born into a wealthy family, regardless of how poor the family's we were born into, the problem of the family, thank God you were not born a Kennedy.
Better to be poor hard Scrabble folks then so rich that a curse was placed on the family.

I don't really care one way or the other...
But as difficult as divorce is, particularly dealing with your husband having a child with another woman at the same time you are also having one with him....can you imagine having to cope with all of it, in the public eye?
I feel sorry for her. She has papparazzi following her every time she walks out of the house. I wouldn't be surprised to learn they are hanging from trees around her property to see if they can determine how many times she goes to the bathroom!! ::)
I personally could care less what goes on in her personal life, her husband's, whomever in there lives. Or any other famous person.(excepting elected politicians, only because the information can be used against them as blackmail)
Do that many people really truly care about all the dirty details? Why? :???:

When a democrat gets caught cheating, his wife is generally there to stand by his side. If more gals would get a spine and divorce the scum people might not see a democrat wife for the pathetic rag they they appear.

I never could understand the "stand by your man" mentality among them, either, they're supposed to be the party of feminism yet they show more traits of battered wife syndrome.

Amen. Had an ex relative/politician who was caught messing around. He humiliated his wife. She did the stand by your man thing. It got me sick. I had thought she was a stronger woman than that.

Whether she knew and tried to hide it from herself or never thought her husband could do anything like that to her, she's being publicly humiliated for no other reason than marrying someone she fell in love with and building a life with him. Being a Kennedy doesn't mean she can't be hurt. It certainly can't fix a broken heart.
